i found two training plans for a beginner and internediate 10 miles on this very site! printed and lost them - now can't find where:

Never tried it myself.
Lot's of good stuff on here Serpentine Running Club
Try the training page, about half way down, there are some 10 mile training plans on there.
i must be blind!
