you'll have to get a day licence from IMCH when you register, which will cover insurance from the swiss federation, if you aren't a BTGay member. if you are a BTGay member, then it looks like you've got no insurance. as ever, you should have listened to me when i told you they were crap!
they will only cover itu sanctioned overseas races fortunately the norseman comes under this unfortunately I am not a member anyway. Best way to go is a private policy, I must get one sorted, rosie gave me the address of one but I have been too lazy to do anything about it. if anyone else want to enquire
I spoke to a nice guy at IMR Group and it is their Sport Travel Insurance which allows me to race in an IronMan event. For people travelling all the time they also do a yearly policy.
Phone number is 01582 595595 or web page is www.imrgroup.co.uk
take a light rain jacket for the bike leg, also put arm warmers in your box for the colder weather.
You should be provided with a complete rain proof bike cover for the overnight that you leave the bike in transition, use this to cover your transition box just before the race to keep your race shoes dry.
Other than that the secret is to use the offer from FB etc and take as much as you would need for a summer ride in cold conditions, bear in mind you are racing so you will be warm but the descents might get a bit chilly if its raining and you only have a tri suit on.
Right, seriously now then people. A few weeks left, too late to make up for any shortfalls in training, so let's admit. Who's bricking it?
I'm a bit concerned that I'll swallow lots of water on the swim. I'm a bit worried I may find the hills hard on the cycle. And I'm only thinking about the first half of the marathon because I'm too scared to contemplate the full thing.

Does entry into the event cover us? I have explored the website but can find no references for insurance cover.
"racing and training at home and abroad (except Canada and USA). " oh and Ironman events...doh!

A bit of rain is the least of my worries - better that than 30C+.
I'm going to be away on holiday while you are racing in IMCH, so will have to find an Internet cafe to catch up with the results.
Best wishes to all racers, and in the words of my American colleagues....kick ass, guys!
