According to the softguide website on Dublin, eating out can be pretty expensive and not available late at night. When I've had a few bevvies, I get hungry! So I'll have to bring a bag of munchies with me.
I have just spent 15 minutes hard googling (well it's cold out!) and can't find it. I can visualise it. There are two lifesize statues outside when it is open. Can anyone help?
Just added my name but dont know time or place, will be aroung the temple bar zone as soon as washed and dressed anyway.

As I won't have the dogs with me in Dublin, I'll be wearing one of my dog tee-shirts and probably wearing my Forum baseball cap. Not sure if I'll be at the Expo Sat or Sun, most likely Sat afternoon, intend jogging the breakfast run Sunday morning, and of course at the social, whereever it happens to be! Hope to meet some more of you that I've not met before.
Please excuse me for butting in. I'm from Dublin (but currently exiled in London!) and if you are going to the Camden Court Hotel for your social gathering, then those who need food should be able to find it on Camden Street, I know the Eddie Rocket's there stays open late and I'm pretty sure there are a few chippers too! Baggot Street would be a bit of trek from Camden Court Hotel, I think.
My sister was born the weekend of the Dublin marathon (nearly 23 years ago now) and my dad managed to get in but lots of other women who had just had babies were upset and fuming 'cause the fathers couldn't get into town (Holles Street) 'cause of the traffic restrictions for all the runners!
A few of us are staying at the Camden Court, and "Runningfordearlife" mentioned that there are quite a few good places to eat in the area.....hhmmmm.....
hhmmm Indian food... Isn't that a bit spicy? Guess, if nothing else, it will set our bu!!s on fire the morning of the race. There aren't any Mexican resturants we can go to? ;o)
Italian definitely on Sunday, it's dicey eating curry before racing! But on Monday, sure why not! According to the softguides website, Dubliners prefer late breakfast especially 'brunch' on Sundays up to 2pm - that sounds interesting.
Do Do - don't panic, you are going to have a wonderful experience! I envy all those who are doing their first marathon, it's a very special day. I can't even remember mine it was so long ago, but I do know I felt great after I finished.

What sort of food is everyone looking for?

I think the nearest Mexican restaurant is Temple Bar - see my earlier comments on that.
I am focussing on this to cover the panic of my first marathon
