Wish it was the end of Friday here too - that would mean nice gentle plod followed by wine and telly. Oh well, suppose I should earn it first by going to w*rk. Have a good weekend.
he insisted on playing entire new record - which is ok but not what people love, and the audience was v quiet, but then the last 30 mins of the gig were fab with everyone on their feet and into it
he did play watching the detectives go to chelsea pump it up radio radio almost blue what's so funny bout peacelove and understanding
obviously he gets a v middle-aged audience these days
last time i saw him people were walking out mid-set to go to the bar
this time they closed the bar (!)but there was a steady stream of folks to the loos - seems all the blokes were old enough to be having a spot of trouble with their prostates
his voice is still vg,and steve naieve is still fab on the keyboards (though also rather lardy),but when Elvis strutted to the front of the stage with his guitar and silver shoes...it was just slightly uncomfortable - a bit like been invited to get down and dirty with one of the fatter dads in the school playground. He had 8 different guitars, which,as TS observed,it made no difference to the quality of the playing which one he was one, and when he got down on his knees I couldn't help thinking "Uh oh, your chiropractor isn't going to be happy about this."
he didn't play Olivers army - but that's ok with me
Ash played a fab set - pretty much a greatest hits set
we dont go to many gigs tbh
was a good one at the end though
and he finished at 10.30 :-) although we still didn't get to bed as quickly as we should have so I will have to be careful with tired me today (don't operate well on sleep dep)
I need to get in the bath and I think I'd better get those kids up
I've got body balance, then lunch with old friends, then I am looking after next doors' 5 yo and 15month old - wibble. The plan is Kid B plays with the little girland Teen A entertains the baby...
he has Grand National, the Killers and Mylo - suspect I will like then allmore than him tbh, but he quite likes me to pick out new music for him, and some he loves (eg is now a big Super furries fan)

It's best when it's mostly the old favs with just a taster of the new stuff I think.
Can't remember the last gig I went to...
Would lover to see Muse, they got "Best Live Act" at the Brits.
"Uh oh, your chiropractor isn't going to be happy about this."
Yes, he isn't a spring chicken any more...
