I'm back, knocked almost 3mins off my best time for 10k 51:10, not fast for most of you but I was chuffed with it!

A word of warning - never mix Kashi Honey's and Coco Pops before a run, talk about repeating I must have tasted them 20 times in the first couple of k.
One tip for you - never have Thai chicken curry an hour and a half before a run, I tried it on Thursday and had the same sort of Kashi's Honey/CoCo Pops problems you had
The bit about Kashi Honeys was a joke but as your asking - about 10 to 15 years ago Kelloggs took over a US health food company called Kashi, the cereals have just been released in the uk.
They taste a bit like sugar puffs but not as sweet.
It's a really big brand in Australia, they have cereals, snack bars, drinks etc etc and I just found a hot chocolate type drink mix over here. Haven't tried it yet but think it might be worth a go. It's got loads of vitamins and minerals in it too.
A very good question and I'll let you know after tomorrow's run ,also depends on how many dogs take a fancy to me or is it the malt loaf tucked in the waist band they are after as I don't do the energy gels?

I can assure you I was fast asleep at that time!
I'm now awake after 5hrs sleep and feeling like AoD warmed up, just can't sleep after nights anymore.
I think a run's in order and then back to bed later before tonights shift - luckily the last one phew!!!

My 10k PB is 60:43 <blush>

Good luck with the application, most people in work prefer working nights to days but I find them hard going.
The only reason I do it is the money (that sounds greedy), shift money makes a big diference.
Plus it's 4 on 4 off shift pattern so I would actually be able to have a weekend off every now and again without it being a big issue!!
I love the time off between shifts but the only problem is once you start working weekends its 6-7 weeks before you get a full one off.
Shouldn't moan really as theres's never going to be a perfect shift pattern and 4on/off is one of the better ones.
