BK - Stop sniggering - you know I'll only mention your real hobby again... RB - Flattered I think - but you must have been confused by my youthful looks coupled with my undoubted maturity - right?!
Grrrrr! Heh heh! I don't feel bad about my comment about RB's age now!
A friend of mine was asked for ID whilst buying some booze in an offie a year or so ago. He simply removed the baseball cap that he was wearing to expose a bald spot! See guys, they do have advantages!
BK - Legs feel normal for the first time today...so am going to give myself another few days rest before I get back into my training programme - just to be sure... Thought I really did have a fan club this morning when i saw a thread called "New runner"!!
NR - Yes I must admit, I saw that and wondered. Don't over do the exercise. Seems you 've got plenty of pals at Bristol now.
Jon - After I put that comment about age Jon I thought of all my wasted years down the pub and not running. I do envy your age a bit. What are you aiming for at Windsor.
I'll be aiming for the cool sanctuary of beer after the finish! I think that'll get me through in about 1:40.
I might be being a little optimistic, but you've gotta have a goal! My 10 mile pb is around the 1:13 mark, so on that basis, I reckon it's just about do-able... What do you reckon and what are you aiming for? Perhaps we could plod around together?
1:40 is a little quick for me as I finished BB in 1:45:43. I went through 10 miles in about 1:18 if that helps as a guide.
Dustin will do around 1:36-1:38 so a bit faster but I'm sure with so many running you can find someone at that pace. I may well put something on the Windsor thread
I think Nattynoodle is closer to that sort of pace you're looking at and I know he likes his beer as well ;-)
Hmmm... Well as I've never done one before, I don't know exactly what to expect! I'll just play it by ear! The 10m PB is based on me not being able to run any further, so I don't know whether the 1:40 is possible... Hopefully adrenaline will kick in and I'll do a 1:20 or something!!!!! (?)
NW, I believe most of us here will meet at Windsor, how about it New Runner fancy meeting up with us all, I think there is due to be about 35 forumites or more there at the current count.
PS. To all, As the title of this thread goes, Things I have learnt from the forums.....
I thread rarely continues with similar subjects than it starts with, especially if it goes past 20 messages

Of course it WAS your youthful looks but obvious maturity that confused me. No doubt you had the same feelings regarding me!!!
This is all perfectly innocent.....
May be a bit runner heavy at the start, which could throw you off target, but it could also save some energy for later on.
BK, As my last half was 1:30:53, I would be not too pleased with 1:40 personally, it would be nice to break through 1:30 but lets see what happens.
Luckily, girls are always well behaved.
