As I've mentioned on another thread, me and the Mr ate oysters and curry just after Christmas and have been ill ever since. The projectile vomiting only lasted a day but since then we've been through every sympton going - stomach pains, dizzyness, dihorrea (spelling?), rashes, wind, tierdness.... and though we're slowly getting better we just can't seem to shake it off. We still can't face eating more than one small meal a day and while losing a collective one and a half stones between us is good, we'd really like to get better!
On top of all this, Mr LizzyB developed an allergic reaction to Imodium - rashes, swelling lips and eyes etc - which keeps recuring.
Does anyone know wht we should be doing to get ourselves better? Or should we just put up with the symptoms and wait? And has anyone else developed an adverse reaction to Imodium?

David B - Can't find the d-word on spellcheck and the dictionary is at the other end of the apartment .... ooh, I'm being pathetic today ...
Have you had a sample tested for food-poisoning bacteria such as salmonella or campylobacter? If you haven't, it would be worth asking your doc to send some of the diarrhoea to the lab. Both of these bugs are sensitive to certain antibiotics so a diagnosis could lead to a cure.
But did you seriously have oysters and Curry? someone could have suggested this was a deliberate act to avoid flying back to bjorkland
Its the Docs tomorrow if we're not better. We've been trying to avoid this -visiting the doctors over here is a financially alarming experience. You pay the reeptionist as you enter the surgery just for the pleasure of seeing the doctor. Still, at least this means that the surgery is full of people who are actually properly ill (and rich).
