.........now if we push our bunks together Barley maybe we could squeeze Jo in the middle........ but then Chuckle brother will be there on top of us so it all gets a bit family orientated.
I think it would be best if we got one of the Sherpas blitzed and left them to gaurd the bikes for the duration whilst Jo gets a good nights kip before the ironing thingy ................. afterwards is a different story of course.
I think we had bettter leave further discussions till a later date though .............
I parked at the inter continental where i was staying. Didn't get any preferential rate and its open to all. Think from memory it was in the region of 20 euros a day, so cost me 100 (65 quid odd) for the weeks parking. A bit steep yes, but it was guarded and there were ferraris and all sorts down there. Its an expensive sport is ironman!
All those that I'm arranging accommodation for in the dorms should now have an e-mail sitting in their inbox.
If anyone has a spare bed in their room, please let me know because it seems quite possible we're going to come up one short.
Thanks.
Leo M, I've lost your e-mail address again. Had you booked a bed in a dorm that you now don't need as you're staying with me, Imp and KegK? If you still have that bed, please don't cancel it!

Something else we need to think about and the earlier it can be sorted the better..
Last year Candy booked a community room in the Youth Hostel, though we didnt use it a lot it would be useful to have something like this again, especially if we need somewhere to store bikes and other gear, watch motivational IM DVD's etc.
Also should we consider hiring a local venue, reserving space at a local pub for post race pi$$ up on Monday night?
Or is this already in hand.. Maybe one of Foggy or IW can advise?
A while back I said I would take over Jellybabe's 4 bed room that she had booked at the hostel. There is space in this room if anyone needs a place to kip.
As far as I know the room is booked for Thursday through to Tuesday but I'm having to cut short my IM visit due to work (boo hiss) but will be in Frankfurt from Fri-Mon for supporter duties.
Barley, I dont live in Frankfurt anymore, Iam over near the Luxembourg/ Germany border area. However, the Youth Hostel is very near the Sachsenhaussen area of Frankfurt, which is where there are a large number of pubs/ bars. I would have thought one of these would be ok. Alternatively, the square where the IM finish is( just the other side of the river) contains a number of outdoor cafes. One of the pubs in Sachsenhausen would probably be best and a quick look on the thursday before the IM to check would be ok, as I would not of thought they are all going to be full on a Monday afternoon.
I figure when 60 plus IM and associated IronSherpas descend onto a single establishement at lunchtime on a Monday and refuse to move until the paramedics remove us that it is the drinking equivalent of getting your towel on the lounger before breakfast.
Last year on the monday night, me and my mates found a fantastic irish bar just up from the intercontinental. It was a big place and had outdoor seating too along the street. We set up a tab and a polish girl brought us vodka and redbull all night. It was pretty quiet too as in there weren't many people in there, so i'm sure that having 100 of us bowl up would be fine. Just a suggestion-the bars and cafe's around the finish area in the square aren't big enough to fit that number of people into them.
My money is on a double knees up anyway-there was a beer tent dishing out free beer in the athletes village, so we could all meet there sunday night? Lindi has already said she will get the first in... Some food for thought anyway. I still need to get my accomodation sorted-was going to stay in the intercontinental, but this has now sold out of cheap seats and is charging 250 euros a night for the ironman weekend-erm i think not...

I was planning of driving to Frankfurt... Anyone know what parking is like at the Youth hostel, or in Frankfurt for that matter.

Picked up your email at work this morning. Just replied. Hope I've still got my space!

Meldy and Green Eyes, you should have received an e-mail.
Meldy, I'm pretty sure yours will get through in the end.
Green Eyes, you've booked for you, your husband, and three children. If that's correct, a simple 'yo' on here will do fine.
It's a double room at the Miramar - 315 euros for five nights - thursday to tuesday.
Let me know if you're interested.
If you want in, you've got my e-mail address.
I shall be there and if there aint a bed I shall turf one of the big girls out of theirs!
Thanks very much for doing that for us!!!!!
No need to worry now Meldy:-)
