M&S do some nice CoolMax snug-fitting boxers. These work well for me under tights.
BTW, I tried going commando a couple of times, and stopped doing so when I almost got frostbite at my extremity on a particularly cold morning! Bl@@dy painful!
I wear shorts over my tights because I've found the combination of car headlights and tight lyca across my tight buttocks makes the tights go fairly transparent and everyone driving past can see my bumcrack.
In the interests of public safety I'd like to spare everyone that. Not too keen on wearing anything under my tights to be honest.
I'd never go commando, not at this time of year! plus, many tights are transparent as CS says, and I know the pair my mrs wears is pretty transparent, especially when she bends over in the body pump class! you can see her tattoo! I think a decent pair of wicking pants is required for a bloke.
Tights are all well and good but when you are an old carthorse like me - they do look slightly silly. When I do wear them I use my old lycra shorts under them - use I have been around that long! What I would like is something to wear over tights - but not those awful jersey type training bottoms. Anyone got any ideas (polite ones only please)
As to going commando - not advisable, even in over evr warming climate frostbite can happen and there are good reasons when the 'family jewels' need to be kept at a certain temperature!
I've got to admit of all the solutions I've tried microfibre thongs are the most comfy. Keep it all in place but don't bunch like shorts/boxers or ride up like briefs. Once you're used to them they're very comfortable and supportive.
For what it's worth, I wear wicking boxer shorts which offer extra support. Do you guys that go commando in tights not suffer from the boys in the barracks bouncing like a pair of bouncing bombs?

My tights provide more than enough support, though that may change as they get older and lycra loses it's strength.
Since reading thsi thread I've taken to wearing a pair of cycling shorts under my tights and I've not had any problems. Can't say I've noticed any improcement eaither, but atleast they aren't see through any more.
Kooga undershorts under my skins tights.I would go commando but i am hung like a donkey and would probably get arrested for exposure....................well a man can dream, can t he !!!!!!!!!

I like to keep everything firmly in place.
