Not long got married to a local lady and moved into the area from W Sussex. Thought I'd get involved and hope to join local running club. 13 a lucky number for me as my birth date. W.
HELP - I am looking for a lift to the race. I live in Ilford (not a surprise) and would obviously be prepared to split petrol cost. Can anyone help me???
I'm one of the race organisers. The new course uses about half the old route and is still mainly cycleways. I would describe it as generally flat, if not slightly downhill for 5.75 miles. There's a slight incline to 6 and yes a sharper climb in the Town Park at 8 and a smaller hill around 9. There's a course map on our website www.thehrc.org.uk which is useful if you know Harlow.
Just a reminder to all those who have run before - race HQ will be at the new community sportcentre at Mark Hall School, not Harlow Sportcentre - directions will be sent out with the race numbers.
Thanks for the info. I dont know Harlow much, apart from the last time I ran it about 3 years ago, so I was a bit lost on the map, useful for locals though.
Have entered online earlier this afternoon so definitely doing it now.
Do any of the hills drag on much, or are they more short and sharp.
Yep, noted the start, got a lift and leaving Sudbury at 7:30am, and should take an hour to get there.
hi all Just got my number #198, had a nightmare half at Milton Keynes! Sooooo looking forward to this 10 miler to boost my already flagging confidence.Happy at the earlier start more time in pub on own as usual.Good luck to you all.
I'm really getting into this on-line entry routine now. At first I used to think it was over-priced, but when you take into account the return envelope, postage, cheque, etc, it makes life so much easier.
If you're walking to the school from Harlow Mill take the road through Old Harlow (yellow on map)avoids the traffic and better for access to start and entrance to sportcentre which are on the Old London Rd (east side of the school).
Looking at the "One" timetable, there are no trains stopping at Harlow Mill on Sunday until 09:17, unless other networks serve the station - does anyone know? If this is correct, we'll have to get off at Harlow Town and walk/cab it from there
It's not already full, but we have had a large number of entries already. If you want to enter on the day please arrive in good time to avoid dissappointment; we intend to keep strictly to 500 runners.
Enjoyed the race today, good course and nice friendly people. Felt the heat towards the end,and suffered up the gradient at 8 miles, went round in 72 mins,so quite happy ...thanks to all the great marshalls, helpers etc...well done to everyone.....

Did it last year and really enjoyed it!
Can anyone help me???
Anyone know what the new course is like? I see they mention a hill at 8 miles, so I guess its not as flat as the old course then.
