Hi,
I'm a runner who suffers from really bad cold hands when the cold weather kicks in. I've tried endless combinations and types of gloves, but this winter I want to give mittens a go (theory: glove-fingers keep your fingers cold when they become cold). I often pull my fingers out of their finger compartments and screw them into a fist to keep warm, but this is not really practical. Anyway, to the crux of this thread: I can't for love nor money find any mittens to buy in this country; has anyone any suggestions where I could source some from? I'd really like to try a pair of GORE-TEX® / Thinsulate™ Mittens, but can only find them in the States, and I'd need an overdraft just to ship them here. I've found GORE-TEX® Ski Mittens here, but at £50 a pair I'd need another overdraft.
Help! The prospect of another winter coming home from a run in agony is definitely a bleak one
Lee.

Not sure where you live, but around this time of year, many of the markets in London adn SE, sell thinsulate mitts/gloves and hats.
They aren't breathable fabrics though.
I picked some up fairly cheaply. May be worth a go?
My hands don't really "sweat" too much, so I unlike the rest of my gear I don't really need the breathability aspect. Once they feel warm enough I take off my mitts and thats me sorted for the rest of the run.
You might try skiing gear suppliers, but again this'll cost you for the breatheable stuff.
Good luck
Lobster gloves may work for you - but as lhg says - so you need breathable.
HOT PAD HAND WARMER (FIVE PAIRS) at the bottom of the page.

There are also these mitts that look good:

(sorry, just bored!!!)
Great advice and information - thanks! Will 'get sorted' this weekend, and perhaps this winter won't be so 'bleak'!
