For those of us not lucky enough to have a ticket this thread is set up so that we can arrange a 'Pirate Corner' on the course somewhere to spectate
I think there are a fair few people who will be around to watch
Looking at the map from British Triathlon there are plenty of viewing spots and obviously I have no idea how busy it will be but will assume 'quite'
SOuth Carriage Drive by the junction of West Carriage Drive is looking favourite as the bikes go past 7 times and it is close to the Pop Up Shop, toilets and South Ken or Knightsbridge tube
If anyone has a better idea then please shout

Will also be there for the womens.....
I will definitely be around... probably get there very early seeing as I have the whole day off and make the most of it
How close can we get to the transition area? The map isn't the greatest (for simpletons like myself)
Unless you have a ticket then you cant really .. well not close enough to see anything
both of us are free that day so we should be around for it....
Lovely Jubbly
I know the Rose family are in town as well so we should have a good group to herd round !
and as the chief witch and cat herder, then you will have some fun.....
I plan to be there and would like to join you as a pirate fanboi
I'm in as well, shoul dbe around from 10'ish onwards
what time does it start/finish.............we will be finishing at the olympic park at 12:15 pm...will we be far away from the viewing point and will we miss it all
Unfortunately you probably will I'm afraid... race starts at 11am, so will be done before 1 and I don't think you will be able to get across in time
Hoping to be there. From where you say Melds, do you mean near the run course? I'm not really expecting the race to be decided on the bike, so would be keen to be on the run course? Somewhere along West Carriage or along the north side of the Serpentine would work?

Seren, start at 11am, so finish c.1pm-ish?! I thin kthe medal ceremony is scheduled for c. 1.30pm
Hopefully I'll be camped out in front of the TV in reception! Might bring a softball bat in to make sure the TV's tuned to the right channel!
if you are going for drinks afterwards let me know.....don't get up to the big city often......
I thought it started at 11.30?
Not that it matters too much
Gladys I am looking (if its the same map) at about quarter to 9 on the map - It looks as tho then we could see the bike and the run set up
What we need is for someone who is looking at the Womens Tri on the 4th to update us
Just got into that link .... to the left of the big number 3 on the map
The yellow line is the bike course and the red line is the run course
That is a good point... I may go and watch the womens and have a scope about
Golde Boots, shouldnt you keep away? We don't want our medal hopes dashed by twisted ankles or a DNF
I'd like to think Helen Jenkins has better taste, but GB on the sidelines winking at the Aussie girls might distract them for a bit?! They're a bit short sighted!
i was planning on taking a day off (some time off in leiu) so I am up for this as well.
Whatever... I will just stand somewwhere near the finish line and take my top off... then we will have a real race!
Don't get too close to the finish line mate, you might need a lie down.
Oh let me check the diary....nope working again....
you need to get a new diary FF! That one is shite!
I'd like one that comes with a better job tbh.
Hmmm............maybe. I have the week off for DIY, but the plasterer has let us down, so may visit.the big smoke.
Anyone going to the TT on Wednesday?
We're going up for the women's, will ask Funkin for input 'cos I'm rubbish at stuff like this...will report back
Mr Footed, it's pants. I feel for you. I do. If it makes you feel a smidge better, we also weren't allowed leave except in exceptional circumstances, we do get our days off though...
