Telstar by the Tornados back in 1962. Still one of my all time favourite records and I still regularly play it today. This October is the 50th anniversary of its release, so I'm hoping it will get a vinyl re-release so I can replace my (very) worn out copy - as I'm now sadly reduced to listening to it on CD.
Didn't start buying albums until 1967 - Days of Future Past by the Moody Blues and What We Did On our Holidays by Fairport Convention, both still played regularly today.
Showing my age here - Abba - can't remember the title but it was their first album
I still have all my LP's - Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, Crosby; Still and Nash, Ian Drury amongst others - forgotten how many I had! Oh yes and Yellow Brick Road (wasn't it yellow??)
