I have pasta with shopped hotdog sausages and cheese. If you get really bored you can thread the spaghetti through the sausage bits before they cook. All done in one pan.
pub meal night before (much easier than faffing with cooking - fish and chips is good pre-race food), early morning dump, 2 energy bars and a banana (or 2 bananas and an energy bar) and cuppa for breakfast and off you go. sorted
Chippy it is then if serious athletes are recommending it. Should I practice my pre race nutrition before Sunday? Have def been putting plenty of time into my post race nutrition :{
+1 for Meldy's plan - or a fairly mild chilli with rice. Don't really think you need to bother too much about nutrition for an oly. Decent meal the night before with a good portion of carbs (not too spicy or too much fibre). Decent easily digestible breakfast and you are good to go. It's just a case of what you like and what's simple when camping. Cooking at home and reheating means easy and it tastes good.
One other point to bear in mind - have you checked whether the campsite locks their gate at night. If they do, and you have an early start, you may need to load up the car the night before and park it the other side of the gate, or come up with some arrangement with the owner. You don't want to be locked in and miss the start!
Claret - campsite is actually at the water sports center the tri is taking place in so should be ok, but thanks for the advice.
FF - hadn't thought of that and will use if needs be in the future, will stick to the chippy as I know my body can cope with this and then some exercise - thinking about it perhaps I should stick to the normal routine and add some beers!

Just FYI I went foe the sausage chips and gravy option at the Kingsbury chippy and two bananas in the morning served me well. First standard completed in 3:04 :0)
eat mostly whatever you like the night before , on the day you should stick with something bland and porridgy, is porridgy a word? Good luck on Sunday , I too will be taking to the water in the leeds triathlon , perhaps a brownlee may show up!

Beanfeast and pasta, onomonomonom. Or +1 for screwing the cooking and going to the pub.
+1 for fish and chips. Its my pre-race food of choice. I did try to get sponsored by the local chippy once
A couple of those instant porridge pots for breakfast - the ones you just add boiling water to.
how dare you call me serious.....I have been training for years for this level of ineptitude.
Boil in the bag army style meal from any camping shop or surplus store...tons of energy and an alright range of flavours.
