Like RB5 says there is plenty of free parking including school next door - parking marshals are well organised. The hill after 10 miles is more of a challenge.
Any last minute advice for a first timer at a half marathon?
I have trained for it but - sods law - I have had a horrible cold all week and I havent been able to get out this week because I have felt so weak but ...... looking out of the window - that might have been a stroke of luck!!
I really enjoyed it - was a bit strange "finding" my pace for the race as I am used to doing the shorter runs so I had to hold myself back and get into a comfortable stride.
The 2 main climbs were tough but I got through them and actually picked up for the last mile.
As always, runners have the "I would of gone faster if,,,,," thoughts! It would of been great if we had chips for our times because I didnt get to the start line for at least 10-20 seconds after the whistle went and it was very congested on the 2 laps of the track when we started so I felt I was stuck behind alot of people which possibly affected my time!
BUT I have to say all of the Marshalls were absolutely brilliant - offering encouragement and smiles to everyone. Their presence allowed me to just think about running and not worring about anything else!

Imagine there is parking at the leisure centre. The overflow carpark behind should be able to hold a large number of cars.

Thanks for your replies folks. Looking forward to the hill
