I'm in (and was planning to enter before the Olympics!). It's just I've entered the whole thing - when my original plan was just the half, but I think I know what I'm doing!
Just to say I got a call from Challenge Henley yesterday offering the chance for Pirates to get a discount if we book on mass. They had my number etc from this year's entry. I was not able to speak to them but will do and will let everyone know what they will offer. I am trying to speak to then later today.
I have just spoken to the lovely people at Challange Henley and they are willing to offer all of us, whether we did it last year or not, the early bird discount for the Full distance. So normally it would cost £340, going up to £375 nearer the day, but we can have it for £294. To get this deal we need to enter as team "PSOF" and use the discount code "PREENT13".
Just to add, this discount is only available until October 24th and is only available for the full not the half. I am told that the cycle will be all closed roads again and that there will be a new course (faster) whcih will be announced in a week or two's time.
Finally if we want a Pirate Central feed station for supportes we can have that as well.
Hi. Don't normally post on here (usually over on the 'dark side') but I am in. 1st iron distance. cr@pping it already. Looking forward to absorbing your collective wisdom .
Funnily enough (I was going to use the phrase "ironically", but won't) I got to know about the discount code, a couple of days ago, but didn't dare to use it in case they cross checked and threw out my application.
I must say, it was rather too easy to enter. None of this apply and wait sort of pain.

So. I live in north Reading, about 6-7 miles away from Henley, so probably in a prime position to put people in the right direction for accommodation etc when the time comes. There's not much by way of camping or cheap(er) hotels etc in Henley, but over here we have a Holiday Inn express type place and loads of places to eat out (chinese, curry houses, and good italian for pasta the night before the race, and a wetherspoons for the day after )
There are several short distance tri's over the summer which have river swims for those who would like to practice them, and we can organise a bike recce at some point too.
For those that want to camp there is Swiss Farm campsite - the other side of the road from Phyliss Court transition area. I've camped there a couple of times. It's close to town centre and Phyliss Court and is a couple of miles along the same road from Henley Business School.
For those wanting a bit more comfort, there's The Catherine Wheel (a Wetherspoons hotel). In the town centre and reasonably priced with rooms between £64-£84 at the moment.

If it fills out this month won't be playing entered to many races for the bank manager to like me. Otherwise might still go for it.
Gosh its all getting a bit popular isn't it? !!
I blame the olympics....everyone suddenly getting all sporty.....Outlaw sells out, IMUK and CH all getting full?...wtf?

No, I am doing the Half again as I have some OW issues at the moment that I need to sort out before I go long again. 2014 I will do the full.
Challenge Henley tell me they've refunded me (I sent them a quick email) to get me onto the discounted rate so my thanks to go to Bedders.
No problem Cheggers - they definately seem keen to get us along which is great.
Mate I won't cr@p it until you see the likes of me or Meldy skipping towards you thats scary a IM is going to be easy fellar. There is a thread called fatman to ironman you might find useful as well. http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/triathlon/fatman-to-ironman/191464-307.html?lastunread=1&lastviewed=10115789#lvm
