Errrr sorry about the upflats, I felt I needed one at the end to warm me up abit, I froze on those downhills I would like to say actually I recorded a 27.9mph top speed ... goodness knows where !!
Berkhamsted Sportive on Sunday , I'm hoping to meet up with a few of you, will you be wearing pirate gear on the day or have a meeting place beforehand? I guess most of you know each other already.
Also does anyone know if the train station is still free parking on a Sunday? was planning to bring bike on the train but only coaches are running early enough on sunday morning.
Honk if you check the website for the sportive I am sure that it lets you know where the free parking is
I for one will be in a pirate jacket ... and a very long plait, aiming to be there for about 8 for an 8.30 set off, not sure if anyone else other than Podds and Mr Podds are joining me !
Meldy's plait creates a bizzare pain phenomena (not to be confused with the wind phenomena), when you pull her plait it makes the back of your own head hurt! and sometimes your shins
V foggy this morning, but it burnt off readily. Winter Ballbuster last year was completely pea soup. Take good lights and hi-vis up. Don't rely on the organisers. See and be seen.
Almost went in to a Zafira today; Someone shouted car up, and I saw the headlights on the car in the distance. Didn't see the big grey car appearing immediately in front of me from the murk.

Not sure I believe you
My diary has just freed up on Saturday morning. There must be a mountain bike somewhere in the garage.....
Yippeeeeeeee !!!
You might not say that on Saturday....!
Yay!!
Its fine ... Barlos is going to die
I suppose it does have to be an MTB, does it...... not a cross bike??
Moutain bike would be preferable I think ...
OK - will do a bit of rummaging and emergency maintenance tomorrow.
Perfick
As we are a small group I'll send you and Trogs my postcode, parking wont be too much of an issue I shouldnt think!
Excellent! By the way, no-one's going to die at my hands - will be on a child-sized (OK, quite large enough for me) bike with enormously fat tyres!!
You'll still beat the Barlos up the up flats
That was fun, thanks Meldy Nice mix of on and off road but more up than down
Your tyres looked pretty normal to me - particularly when that chap with motorbike tyres passed us!
Lol yes that bike was ace !!

You want to let go of your brakes - 35.2mph for me, on the downhill to Wendover Woods I think.
Oh, and according to my garmin there was more up than down; 469m gain, 447m loss
Yes thats probably where mine was!
Oh? So we did find a few hills then
The fastest recorded one was probably not the one where all my fillings fell out
Thanks for a great outing, Meldy - perfect mix of road and trail. Took a while to get the bike clean, though.
Hope your teeth are ok....!

Slackers
Forecast for Sunday is foggy , Im thinking of getting in my long Bike ride tomorow now instead.
Am I right to worry about fog for an organised event or should I just HTFU?
Lights & Hi Vis and you'll be fine ..
better fit the lights on tomorrow then, actually its not forecast as bad at berko as it is where I am, will hopefully clear during the morning.
