Quick Q, for you all. As I did an 11 miler yesterday, what do you think I should do this Sunday, another 11 miler or reduce it in preparation for taper week?
Cheers
Jo
Personally, I would do the 11 miler on Sunday at an easy pace then taper throughout the week, making sure you get plenty of sleep too.

I was thinking something very similar for this coming week / weekend, although with the main ascent coming at circa 10 miles, i think i may just have a couple of 6-7 milers in the week and then find a couple of challenging hills this weekend, as a final prep
I still can't decide, my legs were so tired yesterday and I'm worried about tiring myself out to much. I have however just been out for a quick run, only had time for a 5K and I am so gutted...14 seconds of a new PB. Need to push myself a little harder!!!!
I am really looking forward to this race though, reading on Facebook people have been saying the atmosphere is better than Great North, I hope thats true, if it is it will be brilliant!!!!
I did this run last year and loved the atmosphere but the hill stung me near the end and had to walk for abit and my calves felt like someone had poured concrete inside them. but im really looking forward to it now even more so after having the e mail to say my number been dispatched.
Good luck to all running tomorrow. This is my first race so really not sure what to expect just yet but excited for it
Does anybody who has run in previous years know anything about the baggage area? I'm gonna be travelling by train into the city so won't have anywhere to store my things. I understand there is only limited space & am worried I'll get there for 9 to find that I'm lumbered with a bag that I can't get rid of prerace
Bloody hell that was a cold one! Great atmosphere and loved the war drums, got me thinking I was Braveheart lol. Finished in 1hr 28min 41sec. Got my T-shirt on and currently eating my way through the goodie bag. Well chuffed!

Pack received today
I think the starting group is likely to be green or pink if that matters at all?

Just put the baggage label that you got on the bottom of your race number on your bag
Storage is in the NIA, there's plenty of room and someone to look after it till the end of the race.
Good luck everyone, and have fun!
Hope everyone has a great day!
good luck everyone, see u at the finish
