I'm going to enter on Nov 1st when I get paid. What's it like to run? Got Stroud first, two weeks Sunday. I've always fancied going to Stratford, so I'm doing it for a look round
It's very very flat. Little boring in that you do a lap four times. But the medal is great! People are friendly and most are very fast at running, so for me, it's concentrating on not coming last!
Same for me actually. Same goes for Stroud. I'll be the large ish bloke coming second last. Anything under three hours for either would be brilliant. As long as I can say I ran most of it albeit slowly.... Coming up from Devon for it. Stroud was an impulse after I finished the Bacchus half on Sept 9th. I've got the bug for the racing but not the training....
I'm doing the 10k which is run over the same course (but less laps!). Great place for a pb if it's not windy. Not much scenery, but lots of vintage aircraft around.
I've entered, as has my partner. It will be her first running event for over 20 years, and her target is to complete. She's only been running 3 months, so guaranteed PB but not expecting to break course records
I did Stroud on Sunday in 2.31.51, a PB for me. Looking forward to this race now. Hopefully I can find someone at the same sort of level or a bit fasterto run with
steve - congrats on the PB! I'm sure there'll be people to run with.
ship-star - it's not confusing. But i'd say everyone sets off really fast because we're all doing the different races. People drop off as the laps go by. I was lapped several times by people going much faster on the 10k or half. But it's not congested at all and enough space for everyone. My advice is to run your own race and don't worry about anyone else - that's what I did last time and ran a really smooth race.
I'm happy to meet up with anyone who wants to! I hope to run it in about 2 hours 10. I think I am likely to be wearing my black 2012 london marathon top (showing off!) or if it is raining I'll be wearing my yellow running jacket and black addidas running hat.
Disappointed but I'm not going to be running this race now, a, finances aren't there and I've not trained properly for it. My next definite is Blackpool on 24th February, then Silverstone on 3rd March if anyone's doing either of them
it's fast, boring and awful scenery. The races are all run at the same time and some bits are a bit disappointing. Don't expect much by way of a goody bag.
Perfect weather for this course today. Still and cool. Lots of PBs I expect. Sadly not for me though.
Although the course is a bit featureless, the facilities are superb. Where else do you get proper flush toilets, soap in the sink, hot showers and free parking.

We are just hoping it won't be too windy......
Conncarr - yeah, it can get windy there! Fingers crossed it will be good weather.
I've entered for the half-marathon Four 5k laps ... and then a bit extra!
For those that have ran it before, is it confusing with 5k, 10k and HM runners all running the same course and starting at the same time?

kaffeeg- glad to hear it, I'm hoping this race will see me achieve a shiny new PB so the fewer distractions the better!

That's ok, I don't race for the goody bags. It's just me against myself and the clock. Scenery is a bonus but not a neccessity.
I cant do it as I've been bard
Training run for me. Taking round fellow worker who wants a sub 2.15

Full marks to the very vocal marshals as well.
