I'm a proper athelete and need a balanced diet - if i going on a serious 10 hour drinking binge, I like to balance it with a good greasy meal beforehand
Looking at 11.50 per lane per hour, thats £45 for four lanes for an hour which I think will be the best option.
As there are 9 of us so far that means we could have 3 competition lanes and another lane for those warming up, cooling down and generally splashing about etc.
Im currently waiting for confirmation from Hengrove pool, which wont come till next week as the pool lane arranger coordinator thingy person is on holiday this week.
Hengrove says it's got a 50m pool! There's no way, at my current swimming fitness level, that I'd manage 100m of butterfly and live!! I'd be struggling at 50 tbh!
I'd probably struggle with the IM too! But everything else, cost, location etc looks good to me!
The IM will be for a laugh, all events are optional, also there will be special dispensation to allow people to do doggy paddle instead of butterfly or mix and match between the two
This sounds like a bit of a laugh, happy with the costs. Leisure centre about two miles from Temple Meads station served by at least three different bus routes if the website is to be believed.
I can swim old english backstroke which is a little like upside down butterfly (legs can either breaststroke kick or dolphin kick)
Edit: do we know what sort of time we're looking at?
Are you having awards at the Christmas do? I do feel that this has the possibility of becoming a regular thing as a great way to kick off the Christmas party

But that would mean Siggy staying in front of me and I'm in this to win it!
Just draft him till the last 10 metres then!
Im making enquiries re swimming, waiting to speak to a contact at Hengrove Pool, will keep you posted.
Alas I'll be at Bike Science all afternoon, being Retulled and drowling over Bike Porn, so will have to give the swim thingy a miss!!
I know Mouse has organised a buffet, but are there any plans for dinner prior to the main evening's festivities??
Is a buffet not enough for you ?
You can always top up with a bag of chips !!!
There is a very good chip shop on Christmas Steps adjacent to Bike Science. You could pop out for a snack.

Did you want me to try an alternative venue, Barley or are you happy with that?
Im happy with that I think. Im assuming its nearish to the centre/easyish to get to?
