Ady! Excellent . The bedroom image has now been replaced with your George Michael look - still pretty shocking but we're heading in the right direction!
Andrew, just relax. This is only the biggest opportunity you will ever have in your running career. You will never get this close ever again and if you lose your world will cave in on itself descending you into a downward spiral of doom and depression which will torment you from now UNTIL THE END OF TIME! Muah ha ha haaa! What's there to be anxious about?
Anyone staying up throught the night btw? Just waiting on word from Reg re. the swingometer.
Thanks Malcs for the sound advice if only I had looked at it that way sooner, your talents are so wasted and defo think you should look at becoming life coach. Your motivational speeches are an inspiration to all! I am just making my way to the bridge now....
As for staying up throughout the night I think I will be just sat own the edge of my bed rocking muttering target262 repeatedly...
I can picture it 50 years from now - a new nurse being shown round the retirement home. "And this is our Mr Price"..."He's never been the same since that awful Runners World competition."
"The saddest part is that he actually won but by the time they got to him it was too late".
It's best we don't talk about it though... He's responded well to the labotomy but there is still work to be done... He often mentions Malcs and becomes aggressive but we've padded the walls...
Right really confused? I didn't actually send that last message? I sent that last night so how has it appeared now!? Has my I pad also got mental health issues??
Does anyone know if last year RW gave the results of the voting? I am assuming that last years chosen few were chosen on criteria above and beyond who got the most votes, as this would purely be a popularity contest and whoever had the most friends, who would likely not all be runners, would win.
Xyloid - I would be very surprised if they gave out that info. And yes, it is decided on more than just the vote. As you say it would be a bit unfair otherwise.
I hope you're all winners tomorrow. But for those who aren't please remember there is the Forum Six option. Six people will be chosen to be paired up with a mentor and guided to their Spring Marathon. This is the third year this has run and it has a higher success rate than the Asics (sorry - just saying!).
The closing date is 17th December and to be in it you simply put a pitch on the thread on this page.... I'll link it below. Be accurate about your past training, current pbs and have a realistic goal. I was a mentee two years ago and it was a brilliant experience that finally got me under 3:30 after 7 or 8 attempts.
Right guys going to try and come away for the evening! Not long until our fate is determined and for my depression to spiral out of control thanks to our resident counsellor... Will look forward to congratulating the winners tomorrow
Hehehe, I love it, despite my terribly long day today and me being on call tomorrow, reading the last three pages of this thread has brought a smile to my face and laughter around the room....far more entertaining than the comedy awards my OH has on in the background!
Andrew at this rate it may be possible to section you within 72 hrs!
Clive....it has been a very long day...I was secretly happy when my last two patients DNA! Managed to get a 1000m swim in afterwards though, so I feel all refreshed again....ready for my on call tomorrow. I'm already a bag of nerves when I'm on call, it's going to amplified about ten times tomorrow with it being results day!

I've got a session booked on the heavy bag tomorrow eve.. that will sort me out either way result goes!!

are you going to offer a counselling forum thread tomorrow Malcs??
Of course Jen - but only if I don't need it myself
Andrew - LOL, you're getting worse, the muttering has begun. Sarah, Clive, how do we go about getting someone sectioned?
Hmm, bad news on the all nighter. Mrs Malcs has said she's switching the heating off at 11pm
aw I love this thread only went in the bath for an hour and it goes all crazy!!
Malcs....you have the heating on? Mrs. Shady Ady makes me choose between heat and hot water...... and tonight is bath night!
ha! Love it.
You were improving on the mental image front and now look what you've left me with!
(believe it or not I'm working at the moment btw.)
Andrew - I think I know why you have trouble sleeping....it's only 9:30!
Stay sane, remember it's only a competition.
[EDIT - well scrub my message above then]
