sub 2 Richmond Half, sub 25 parkrun would be nice this year, complete first marathon (Warsaw probably). And make it to RW London social as haven't managed this year
@santas little tiger - what breeds would you avoid? I'm worried about getting one and the allergy being too much. How long did it take you to become tolerant?
Run Chester Marathon in a decent time and having trained for it properly. My days of not running much and turning up to run a marathon on about 11 miles are done. I'm starting early for Chester!
Stay injury free for 2013, having missed most of last two years due to cartilige and achilles problems, and with luck complete all 8 Lakeland Trail events.
I'm only really starting out with this whole thing, so what I want to do is enter my first ever 5km race in the month of January and hopefully compete in a local race called the Warrior's Run, which is comprised of a 15km run that brings you up and down the largest hill in the West of Ireland. I entered 2 years ago but ended up completely backing out because I know I didn't train hard enough This year though!! Hopefully it will be a good one!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knocknarea
I'm going to watch more free live sports on the internet , indulge in as much phone sex with Indian girls as I can, and may possibly buy some Bose headphones.
Really don't know why I want to do these .... just one of those things I suppose !
Happy New Year to all hope you got everything you wanted for xmas.I'm looking forward to doing The London Marathon and hope everyone doing any training it goes well will welcome any hints or tips for training I'm not Fast but I'm willing to put in the miles to achieve getting round safely along with everyone and enjoy the day Good Luck to all
Happy New Year to all ! Margaret - there are good Marathon training plans in "Runner's World" January edition. I will use the "beginner's" one and after all that time saying I'd never attempt the distance I am signing up to Berlin, hopefully with Macmillan. I'd love to try for the London but I don't have a place and I don't think I can raise £2,000 and train in the short time left. Good luck with your training. Assume you have done a half or just about to do one?
Hello everyone, after an injury hit couple of years, my new years resolutions are to run as much as I physically can! but in particular to run the entire length of the River Thames and then the Virgin London Marathon over 12 days maximum to fundraise for the British Heart Foundation. Any tips for me people? Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone. Margaret, I am doing London too, and have never run more than a half before. So my resolution is to stay tight to the training schedule!
Just the one sort of running resolution, basically to run a marathon PB. Three main 2013 fitness related resolutions are that I am gonna have a real go carving out a six pack. Think it's more of a problem of just needing to rid myself of a little bit of fat from the belly, have a feeling the abs are already there, just hiding! Secondly I wanna up my cardio in the gym - linked to the six pack resolution - so that's going to require 3 trips a week rather than just 2. Oh, and simply because my mates are doing one I've gotta do a triathlon.... which means I need to start going back to the swimming pool!!
December 31st and motivation for all three is as high as it can be!
Edvanson... that's very challenging you must be super-fit ! Good luck with it.. it sounds very hard. Matsmum - Yes, do keep to your schedule.. I get out rain or shine - prep. is everything (lecture over)
Sarah - have you booked a half yet ? April is just round the corner ! Good luck with your "tri" "Monk" - I can cycle but swimming hopeless so not for me !
I would like to be able to just fit more runs in without things getting in the way! And to enter more than 1 race this year. And to go a bit further than last year. Not much really !!!!
Thanks for comment I have run London before but now a little older (65yr) so not so fast now and not done distances for a long time so will look at training programme in R/W thanks good luck to everyone with thier training look forward to meeting some of you in London my number is 5955 expect to be at Blue start.Did GT Sth last Oct brilliant race for anyone to try. Thanks again Good luck Pete in Berlin Enjoy

Finish my first marathon (Berlin in September), get under 45 mins for a 10k and smash my fundraising target for BHF of £2,500.
Sounds easy enough when typing it...!
Not given up on a sub-40 minute 10km some time, though a lot of work to do!

sub 80 minute half a tough but properly do-able goal for me. sub 79 minute half to qualify for new york 2014 would be tip top!
