Hi, Just wondering what others do in these conditions? I'm starting marathon training in february, just getting my body back into running till then, With the weather forecast not looking good, would it be best to still go for a run on maybe a field or grassy area? I recentley had a bad fall in snowy/icy weather so am very weary about running in snow/ice on road still.
Any info much appreciated.
Thank you.

Had a read, thanks for the link. Ill be heading out to the park
shorten your stride.
i just run with extreme caution thats all - pace is much slower, but that dont matter, what does matter is keep training going
its not just about the pyhsical aspect
found myself doing that on tonight's run.
Was more a "just in case" type situation, as the roads weren't too bad tonight.
it's if it freezes over you have problems, especially in the dark.
yes i shortened my stride also as my run was in the dark, not been too icy here at the mo, and hoping it stays that way..
General recommendation is run in daylight where possible (you can see the ice better), but if that isn't possible, run in the evenings, rather than the mornings: the ice tends to have melted over the day.
++ to this
ran in the evening last night on fresh snow...managed a personal best too shouldnt be too long before the nights start getting lighter..)
