Rafiki - they say size doesn't matter, but I want a big golf-sized one. (I'm a bit short sighted and my cycling sunglasses aren't prescription lenses, so everything I'm gonna see has to be big and bold!!)
People may be tidying the list, but they are not doing it to the full satisfaction of THE List Fairy. Evil Pixie (or The Evil Pixie to quote her full forum name) is not in the right place.
I have had two quotations from suppliers, the lowest for an order of 25 is £18.66 per brolly, excluding postage (but not packing, tubes supplied). This is higher than I thought because I've looked at a mid-range quality item that is labelled as 'storm proof'. Personally I'd prefer to pay a bit more to have something that won't buckle at the first sign of wind, but what do others think?
Would you be happy to pay £18.66?
Or if you want posh you could have an automatic opening one for £21??
Yes, it does include set up costs, and tubes for posting as well, so I'd only need to add the actual posting costs. Of course if anyone is at DIY HIM I can give you your umbrella there.
Back of the class for you. What about the four Ms they need sorting. As space is before an 'a' then Mr Zuvai goes ahead of MrsDigger. What if me and M..o.use had different numbers of dots.
These things matter.
M..eface
Note I use 'four' not '4' as the number is twenty or less, over twenty it is reasonable to use numeric characters. You are in a whole world of CDO here
Please leave list making to the experts . It is M.r Zuvai, not Mr Zuvai so therefore he takes precedence over M..eface. Also, the correct forum name is The Evil Pixie, although some people would ignore the 'The' and place it in the list based on the 'E'. But she was listed twice (in the middle and at the end of the list) so one entry had to be removed anyway.
M.eface - I was taught that you should write the words for numbers for anything less than 10, ie nine and 11 . .
I've no knowledge of dot precedent. I would have thought that multiple dots would take precedent over an alphabetical character and thus would put Meface first, then me and then Mr Zuvai.
Up to ten is for lazy people, whereas up to twenty is used by well mannered people. One Hundred and Eighty is used by darts people and said in a loud voice.
We only need another 7 to fill a minimum order of 25 ... anyone else interested?
The situation so far is I have had a few quotations, and the cheapest is a previous supplier (Thanks, M..o.use and Squish), £14.30 (plus postage), but this is for a 'basic promotion umbrella', for a storm-proof one they would charge £20.50. It isn't that near to Pantone 108, but maybe there's someone out there that had one before and can comment about the colour / quality?
Another company can supply a storm-proof umbrella for £18.70, but I have to wait for them to send me a colour swatch. It'd cost a lot more for an exact match.
Once I have information about colour, I'll let you know ...
Britrisky - far from me to tell you what to do but you could post in the Outlaw, Lanza, and Henley threads linking them back here (apologies if you already have )

Google search for golf umbrellas show that the price you are being quoted is reasonable bearing in mind that you are ordering customised ones.
Does your quote include artwork set up costs?
Also, bear in mind that you will have to add on P&P to those ordering so your £18 might become £22/£23 and your £21 could become £25/£26

OK 'space' before letter a and numbers before space or letters. What about dots?
The dots are in the middle, so don't count?

umbrella a cracking idea but with all my new kit the money is a bit thin.
