Feeling really rather pleased with myself tonight. Crap day ay work, frustrating and rather miserable evening sorting a few family issues and have remained dry. A few weeks ago of have got back home and had a couple of glasses or cans to.unwind, relax and get ready for bed but not tonight. A pint of water, hot drink and I'm.off to my pit. Thanks everyone for the support, this thread is a real.motivator!
i fell off the wagon last night. missus opened a bottle of wine for cooking and asked if i fancied a glass. i'd drunk half of it before i even remembered i was off the booze. doh!
so, a 2 unit blip to soil my blotter. ah well, i'll climb back on board and soldier on.
I stayed on the wagon for a whole day yesterday and will double up today Resolve been shot this year for a variety of reasons/excuses tho' have cut back
I would like to do the same Maddy but some things are quite hard. TakeScotland in March. A 4 day pub crawl with a gang of friends to watch the Rugby. Couldn't do 4 days on orange juice!
well done Mr F, I've been struggling as well and really having to exert will power to not go to the local shops and buy a bottle of wine, and have survived without it, so that's good
going out for a meal and drinks with a friend 25th Jan, I think I can be forgiven
Pops head sheepishly around the door... I fell off the wagon last night. I went out for a meal with my husband (can't remember the last time we did) I couldn't say no to the red wine accompanying the steak.
Well done to all you guys sticking with it.
Don't confess to something you haven't done yet Loon
Evening k80! Don't be sheepish, I think you have to look at the benefits of a 16 day break from the booze. Hope you had a good night, a bit of romance, steak and vin rouge sounds good. It's been a while since I experienced that sadly!
I had an "allowed small drink" evening. I've bought some of those small individual bottles of wine and although I was tempted to open a second I managed to resist.
I need a pass for next Tuesday pretty please as it's my OH's 65th birthday, I am sure a few glasses of champers will be drunk. I am the "designated driver" for his Saturday evening party so won't drink anything alcoholic then.
going out with a couple of mates tonight, not seen them in a while, i've pre-warned them i'm on the wagon so hopefully i won't succumb to the temptation to have a nice, nourishing pint of Guinness or a tasty Sierra Nevada pale ale. mmmmm.
That's enough to drive me to drink liz! Stay strong people. I'm probably doing to let the wagon roll on into February now aswell. Why not, saves money and despite not feeling it I must be healthier as a result!
Liz - I'm finding these snow days hard. Nothing better to do on a day like this than to turn the heating up, comfort eat and have a nice glass of wine as no work, no driving etc.
However, am staying on wagon.
Bought zero % cobra tonight to go with curry. Don't know if the taste will make me fancy a real drink or not? Will report later.
That's the thing with these 0% beers Kev, can't decide if it makes it easier or harder! If I can make the weekend then I'm back offshore and the month will be done.
Liz work and school closed - doesn't that count as a holiday then?!
Struggled tonight but managed to cling on! Roll on Monday as the mid-week nights don't seem too bad. Am still planning to roll through Feb as well. Know what you mean Maddy. I would love to go 6 months then try and be really restrained when starting again, but it seems so daunting. Still, 1 day at a time eh.

I am missing it but am feeling the benefit. That morning red wine sluggishness is not missed though.
Evening
50% down now - boredom is a bit of an issue for me I have to find other things to think about

Evening - still rolling - I am going to do february as well I have decided
Part of me want to do 2013 but isn't going to make it a goal because I don't think I will do it

Good luck for February Maddy.

Am sat here at home with husband and kiddies and work and school closed. Now seriously considering having a vino.....
