Morning all - late checking in as the comedy duo who are my parents came to visti me at work...thing is mum's as deaf as a post so the people in the waiting room could have joined in the conversation as it was held at high decibels!
And thank you for the birthday wishes I had a very unusual birthday! Cake took me down a lead mine, then we bought fudge and played Pooh sticks. Then we drove to Manchester to see Little Voice at the Opera House. It was very well performed, but not my cup of tea at all!
The highlight of my day though came from a visit to the GP. He asked me what I do, and when I told him he started telling me about some 'ground-breaking' research he had read. Apparently a study in Norway had found that a very small percentage of super morbidly obese people have an abnormal mitochondrial respiratory pathway that means their metabolism fixes carbon dioxide from the air into carbohydrates, in the same was as seen in plants. My reaction to this was: "Are you serious? If this was April Fool's Day I wouldn't believe you."
Several minutes were then spent with the GP searching the internet for the article, during which time he exclaimed "Oh for the love of cheese!" when his password didn't work. He eventually advised me to look for the article myself, telling me it would be in nutrition journals I read and that he was surprised it hadn't reached the mass media yet. I left with much skepicism.
About an hour later, I got a text message from my GP, apologising for telling me about the research and saying that it hadn't occurred to him that it might have been a joke, but it had indeed been sent on April 1st and was nonsense.
I have had cheese in my salad. Just a little bit though. And a falafel.
My clinic this morning was completely chaotic - everyone attended, but no one came at the time they were supposed to. I don't mind though. The sun is shining, I'm planning on going for a run later, and I had cheese in my salad. It's all good
I have bought cheesecake for the weekend - a lemon one.
I am about to make chocolate orange muffins, last time I made them it didn't go well but I'm hoping this oven will be kinder to me. Picnic in the park tomorrow as long as Mini2 is feeling fit.
I bought cheese, on offer, so I got the strong Cheddar with spring onion and the other one is Wensleydale with Cranberries. I am enjoying the Wensleydale with Apricot, but decided to try another variation.
I might look for the frozen Toblerone cheesecakey dessert at the weekend, think it was the T supermarket that had it.

Sarah, did you have cheese in your salad perchance?
Why yes, I did have cheese in my salad - however did you know?!
Ooh cheese, do tell, was it sliced, grated, cut into little cubes and put on little cocktail sticks in an homage to the 1980's?
I had to finish the tuna, not to worry, though, normal servings will return tomorrow.
I have bought cheese for the weekend
