I use one pair to run my long runs in, and then change into a nice, clean pair for a few hours afterwards! I found it really helps recovery but am aware that others will disagree. Only recently started wearing them to run in, and did find the recovery quicker and no aches etc. Research seems to be inconclusive at present.
Yeah, I have slept in mine after a long run. I have also worn them all day after a morning run and taken them off only when I have had enough. I am wearing calf guards now in prep for the VLM on Sunday and will try to leave them on all day. The compression that delivers more input/output from the blood to the calf seems to be more effective the more you wear it. That is my experience anyway.
I live compressed I run to work in compression socks wear them all day, dont smell too bad, run home have bath, change socks, wear them to bed. Might be in my head but I feel fresher for it

Sleep in them, or perhaps wear them the next day.
Nobody at work can tell that you are wearing them, If you have them under trousers.
They do seem to help me..slept in them last night after a 17 miler yesterday...and not as bad as I thought I would be..never gone that dear before!...

I sleep in them, but only after a long or hard run. Any other time would be odd.
Haven't tried running in them. Isn't it hot?
The same is true of frilly knickers
Frilly knickers don't help you run faster, alas...
