Someone at work thought that chickpeas came frm chickens. I didn't like to ask her quite what part of the chicken they came from as I was scared of the answer
Well done r*nners There's a few of you about on here!
Grr - just had my nephew ring up to lecture me because I asked my mum up to my place yesterday without telling him. FFS! Have to admit I got rather peed off with him as he didn't want to hear my point of view.
Quite! I do understand it's a bit awkward as she'll often get things confused but even so - if I want to go and visit someone I normally check that they'll be in rather than expect someone to ring me up to tell me they're going out. I also didn't like his insinuation that I wasn't concerned with mum's safety - as far as I can see that isn't an issue, we were ust talking about who should ring who. Actually now I'm explaining it I can see why my hackles were rising!!
Oh no Bookie, what's happened? I thought you had job offers coming out of your ears a few months back?
to the job news Bookie. Reading between the lines of some of the stuff you've written they don't sound like a very nice/fair/straightforward bunch of people?
Huge sympathy on the interfering relatives Bear. Have I told you about my Uncle Gasleak? Someone misheard me, I actually said "ghastly uncle" but they heard "gasleak uncle" and it stuck. So appropriate - full of hot air and could explode any minute in a blast of his own self-importance.
^^^^ I don't like him very much, but you'd never guess
Morning. Sorry to hear about the job situation, Bookie. In good news, I think your socks may be redeemable. I've run muddy races in white socks that became black socks by the finish but after a hot wash in the machine they've always come back looking not quite as good as new but presentable.
I've had salad cream and cheese (good old cheddar ), just not toasted.
There's a fridge full of cheese at CakeBook Manor at the moment. I restocked from the Cheshire Cheese Company a couple of weeks ago and most of it is still intact.

Well I think that was a great effort by Bear and I remain totally parmesan to his cause.
Nice one bear.

I've been away for three days and I think I've returned to a parallel universe. FB and here and totally confusing me
I think my parents had a cheeseplant back in the 70s

In mundane news I have just found the most amazing website!
I never know whether to open links at work...is it work safe, Cake?!
It's safe, Frodo.
It does feature a rather wonderful cheese sculpture
Looking to Buy Cheese?
Is it just me, or does starting an advert like that sound a bit dodgy?
Excellent cheese work. by Sarah “The Cheese Lady” Kaufmann. Her motto is " So much cheese... so little time."
I had a cheese and salad cream toastie.
Skippy the bin has been emptied.
The sun is out.
Salad cream in a toastie? Is it nice? I'm assuming it is seeing as you intentionally put it there...
I want some cheese. The pear I ate earlier was insufficient.
Mmmm salad cream makes a lovely partner for the cheese nom nom nom.
But in a toastie? Doesn't the salad cream get hot?
Salad cream and fish finger sandwiches. Now that is lovely partnership
I'm struggling with the idea of a salad cream and cheese toastie. What cheese do you use, I'm thinking not Goodwood oaksmoked cheddar.
Sarah, Wenslydale goes well with pears (and apples). Just for future reference.
Brie and salad cream?
Salad cream goes very well with cheader.

I've had a nectarine. I'm still peckish.
Great minds
