Most manufactures websites will tell you what pressure to use based on tpi (threads per inch) of tyre and your weight. For example I have 3 different types of Vittoria tyre on 3 bikes - 1 at 90tpi, one 120 tpi and race tyres at 360tpi - they should be inflated to 95, 105 and 125 psi repsectively.....apparently

Corsa Evo CX? Great rubber!
I run Schwalbe Ultremo on roadie, 90 in the wet, 100 in the dry, 110 on commute because the roads are sh¡t and although lower pressures are comfier I pinch flat less. TT gets the 360tpi treatment and 130-140 psi - Outlaw half was a bit bumpy after the perfect roads of Mallorca!
my ones on my race bike say max of 175.........but i just pump it up till it fels hard and leave it.........would be scared with that pressure i would be bouncing over the road
It makes a huge difference between tubs and clinchers, clinchers on average are 100 my race ones are about 110 give or take 1/2 psi, on tubs however its a different story where a lot will comfortably hold 160, I don't adjust for the wet tbh as on a road bike I don't think it makes a bit of difference, however on a mtb that's a different story

Ultremo 23s at 110 psig on the TT. Roadie has 25mm Durano plus at 90 psig. Both for wet and dry. TT clincher wheels only rated to 120 psig.
Was planning on some Corsa Evo CX clinchers for the TT but haven't yet got round to it.
interesting but i'd like to see the original test results. I can't believe a change of tyre can give a 20% speed increase unless the original tyre was a MTB tyre and there is no way a 42mm tyre is as quick as a 23-25mm tyre - it might roll well but they ignore the weight at the rim.
Looks like a great deal on the Corsa tyres, do they have similar puncture resistance on Conti GP4000s which I have been eyeing up?
On a slight tangent, does anyone use light weight or latex tubes with race wheels/tyres? Do they make any difference to speed, comfort, puncture resistance? Basically are they worth the extra couple of quid?
I use latex tubes on my zipps... Apparently makes the ride a bit softer... I would say its marginal, certainly adds no speed... And you have too check the pressures as it will go down 20+ psi in a day!
Cat - Planet x are selling Corsa for 20 quid at the moment, rather than 50!!
Avoid those ones too narrow - the 23mm 320 tpi are about £28-£29 I think.
Definite thumbs up for latex tubes - not saying I can feel a difference but they test a bit better I think and for a few quid why not - plus they look pro when you fix a puncture and you can patch them like normal tubes too.

I look at what is says for min/max on the tyre wall and go for somewhere towards upper end of range; on the road bike that's around 100psi.
700/23 I use 100psi
IIRC 22 conti tubs at around 140psi, nice lower rolling resistance for added speed, apparently

What about the difference between wet and dry conditions?
If its wet out I'll use a little less.

Indeed - Corsa CX !! And it comes in different colours to match the bike
Depends on the bike:
MTB at 35 to 40 psi (depending on the trail type & conditions).
Commuter at 60 psi, it's a slick tyred mtb.
Road 110 psi.
Mine are blue
Conti Gp4000s on mine, 95 at front 100 at rear, 25mm as lower rolling resistance and confort. 105kg here.

mine are normal tyres so i was suprised when they say 175 max on them............I would never go more than 120 ........if i had a guage to measure it

Can someone translate those figures from psi into bars for me ? I pump my tyres to about 7 bar - is this right ?
7 bar is 101 psi

thanks Seren loks like Its about right then

St they're for race day only. Minimum protection. Pops are they 19S? I want a 19 for the front.
You are in luck
Tubs tuffo pro s33 not really a race tub but does for me. Max 175psi I go about 150 as that's all I can manage even when using a track pump.
175psi. Lordy. That's sure going to go bang if it ever punctures surely!
