Toucs, I have been goaded into agreeing to sign up by a mate who was annoyingly close to qualifying for Kona in his first outing at Ironman UK 2011 (albeit with a shortened Marathon!).
He has my cash and instructions to get up at crack of sparrows fart on 01 July to enter both of us and hopefully a couple of other mates currently perched comfortably on the fence.

Any idea of how quickly it usually sells out?
about 10 mins - seriously....
one tip to guarantee an entry to IMA, is to volunteer the year before as a marshal/helper as they are given preferential entries for the following year. we know a couple who do that - volunteer one year, race the following. I think they've done IMA 3x that way.
and that's why it sells out so quickly - all the preferential entries leaving fewer for Joe Public. happens that same way at Florida
I thought it was already agreed to be Switzerland and the revisiting of Austria is confusing me. I may just trawl the discussion thread in a fit of pedantry to prove my point.
I think it was agreed Switzerland as well, the trouble is we have had this conversation many times and have come up with the majority of IMs as an answer
I understand all the comments re IMA for 2015 and entry difficulty but why IMCH again?? that's been done twice now, as will France have been, so it makes more sense that IMA deserves a revisit, or Frankfurt, which has only had one mass pirate visit in 2006
anyway, I'm retired so in reality not really bothered....

I believe because it was the first 'en masse' visit ...
I'm doing Austria this year, and while it does fill quick it's within a day or so - so plenty of time for folk to get an entry in if ready to go on the day it opens.
I agree with FB. IMCH has been done TWICE before, it just seems silly to me to go back AGAIN. Anyway, I will save my feet stamping until next year, and then probably see you all in Zurich in 2015
On a couple of occasions yesterday I logged on to Ironman live to catch some finish chute action. I saw a heap of people coming through at 13hrs and stayed up to watch the last two. The penultimate finisher was in his early sixties, bent double (literally) and delusional but the look on his face was the same as all the others when he registered what he’d achieved (that and the realisation that a cold beer and bed were the only other things in the agenda that day).
The course photos on Facebook also look awesome.
I am quite excited already.
What entry / registration details are you after iMuff?

Aww ... thats a lovely race
Will we see you in a supporting role at Nice ?
Unfortunately Meldy at the moment we cannot commit to it due to shop and event commitments, although it would be really good to be there.

anyway - I thought Austria was the front runner for the pirate's 10th birthday trip in 2015??
Can't the Pirate 10th birthday be Sweden? We fancy that one (yes i said we)
i thought it was IMCH for the 10th birthday one
Never let Barlos have the final word ...
We need to be careful with the 2015 choice for the exact reason FB points out, either that or go via a company/package deal and guarantee our numbers

Last I heard it was IMCH.
I think that Swizerland was agreed also because we stand more chance of getting every one in !
IMCH would be fab for 2015.
We'd love to do IM Nice with the pirate crew but it clashes with one of our events. so hopefully Austria it is
I was going to post something but decided not to cos it was bound to be misinterpretted by certain people who don't have my best interests at heart
Sorry - male with more than one thing to think about monent - is IMCH Swizerland or Austria?
IMCH is Switzerland and probable Pirate championship event for 2015
A mate turns 40 in 2015. Stupidly he is in love with the idea of tackling an Ironman (his first) and a landmark one at that. Lanza it is!
Haha Trogs you're busted
Yeah, get back to work Trogs.
(you go too easy on them, HC)
;-)

Following the updates on Facebook. The course (scenery) looks a-mazaing!
Great conditions for it this year.
Feeling very tempted.....
Anyone have any entry / registration details?
D-day.

So excited...
10:55PM. Coffee. Credit Card and index poised over the "refresh" button.
You've got to give it to IM for being able to whip up such hysteria over what is essentially a ridiculous endurance event!
