I've never been a fan of jam generally, but due to the lack of availability of gluten free cereals in the places I've travelled to recently I've had to resort to the occassional slice of bread and jam for breakfast and I've discovered that I'm rather partial to blackcurrant.
So... what's your favourite jam and do you prefer it on bread, toast, crumpets or something else?

Perfect parkrun prep.
Blackberry (or marmalade) on wholemeal toast.

Usually have cereal for breakfast, but strawberry jam or orange marmalade on brown toast will do in a pinch.
gooseberry jam stirred into greek yoghurt.
Bramble Jelly. Blackcurrent is good and I like marmalade. Toast, any toast, just toast. Love toast.
Apricot is my favourite at the moment. I like jam on oatcakes.
I used to have a loganberry bush, and the jam from the berries was fabulous
There seem to be a lot of brambles this year, so I'll have another go at bramble jelly.
Black Cherry, or Blueberry
On toast, wraps, in yoghurt, or just a spoon sometimes
Fig. On a big slab of cheese, or plus 1 on the goosegog. Ooh, or rhubarb & ginger.
KateF, I think you're my jam twin.
Some interesting ones in your store cupboards that I have yet to try. I might have to hunt some down. When I eventually get a garden I might even grow a few soft fruits for jam making
Literati n, I have some amazing fig jam in the cupboard at the moment, and that barb and ginge from Bills. Glorious.
Raspberry, on lightly toasted brown bread or a very fresh baguette and butter. I've been doing a survey of raspberry jams in the past few months and it's currently a toss-up between Bonne Maman and M&S "Soft Set" jam.
If there's no raspberry going I'll happily accept strawberry, although then my mind turns to cream teas, with scones and generous amounts of Devonshire clotted cream.
Homemake blackcurrent jam on thick cut bread toasted then strewn with lashings of butter.
wholemeal toast with marmite and peanut butter......
I've made some really nice uncooked jams this year - preserves the flavour of the fruit better. Raspberry is nice, but my favourite was tayberry.
On toast
*drool*
I tend to swap favourites but lime, lemon, orange or apricot are all jolly nice
oh and black cherry
Blackcurrant jam for me all the way - either on toast or soft squishy bread with real butter. Or stirred into rice pudding - old school!
That said, I was given some blackcurrant and blueberry jam as a gift, and it's really really nice.
In an ideal world though, I want my jam smooth, no bits in it.............
When I was running, I'd have jam butties for breakfast instead of porridge and found it just as good and easier to stomach at stupid o'clock in the morning.
That's a good idea actually Beth, Might try that - it would have to be soft, white bread.
I love my cherry jam or homemade raspberry jam on a slice of freshly cooked bread.
Blackcurrant or raspberry, on digestive buscuits.
(Hate strawberry jam though).
Raspberry, on bread fresh from the breadmaker. Homemade is best but Baxters is pretty good.
Seville Orange marmalade, the more bitter the better, on hot toast.
Soft white bread was always my choice too, but recently I have discovered Hovis Wholemeal thick sliced - it's really soft, squidgy and yummy, plus I can buy it without my other half moaning about it being unhealthy (he won't eat white bread)!!
I usually eat Hovis wholemeal (makes the best toast) but every so often I get a hankering for white bread (especially with tomato soup) and pop off to Waitrose for a farmhouse batch. Yum
Genius seeded bread, toasted, with raspberry jam. Plum jam is delicious, as is strawberry jam, and lemon curd
to lemon curd
Just bought some ginger preserve
Ginger jam (or preserve, if you're posh ) is delicious. It's my Mum's favourite
It says preserve on the jar. I'm not posh
The jam must be posh then
I really want jam on toast now...
got to be a quality raspberry jam
