Crikey! It's just occurred to me that this island probably doesn't have a fridge. I'd recommend digging a very deep hole for a cheese cellar. That'll keep it safe from the warthogs. You can also keep the booze down there, and use the crate to get cracking on a raft.

I want to be washed ashore on the same piece of wreckage as Phil - his survival skills look awesome
(thank you, you can catch me at your local comedy club every Wednesday)
You nicked that from Frasier...
Damn, sprung .......... I could quite virtually every line from Frasier, and yep you got me.
The funniest line was when Frasier accidentally walked into a gay bar and he notices his shoe polisher working behind the bar and Frasier says to him 'I bet youre surprised to see me here' and hes like ..... 'Errrr, OK .........'

Surely not as funny as when Niles has been having trouble finding miniature easels for his dinner party and Frasier says: "You know, if he had any resourcefulness at all, he'd know that miniature easels abound at Liliputia Dollhouse and Miniatures".
I wouldn't have any chedder, it's my least favourite cheese.
I like Appledore, that's a sweet cheese so would do as desert. Though if this Island has trees, some of which bear edible fruits or nuts, I might forgo that for a plain cheese that I can eat with fruit. I soft goat or sheep cheese? You can add any of the local herbage for variety.
Wenslydale, I had a beautiful Wenslydale sent to me, only I can't remember what it was, but I'd have that.
I might go for Hallumi as that's nice toasted, would go well with the nuts that I picked from the trees.
I'm now thinking that raclette might be good for melting over the campfire in the evening. Some of these desert islands might get a bit chilly at night.

chutney.
Greek cheese. There's always Greek cheese, whether you like it or not.
It's a feta compli.
I think you can make cheese from any kind of milk that's natural.
I realise Ossau-Iraty and Manchego are similar but I was thinking of what would be good on crackers. My actual favourite cheeses are:
Peccorino Romano (for serving grated on pasta)
Laverstoke Park Farm buffalo mozzarella (amazing)Halloumi.
I'm not actually a big eater of cheese and rarely eat the pure cow ones.
one of my cheeses has wine in it so if i eat enough of it i can be merry all the time
I like it, Phil's really putting some thought into this
Lit: yes you have one case of one alcoholic beverage
Wilkie: no grapes or other fruit unless they happen to grow on the island (perhaps you could make you own wine if they do though).
All: one jar of chutney or pickle - you have to make it last
One case? Remind me how long I'm on this island for?
Depends how good you are at making life rafts
I do hate French cheese's though.
I 'camembert' bear it ..........
(thank you, you can catch me at your local comedy club every Wednesday)
Wensleydale, pont l'eveque, jarlsberg
SO WHY IS IT I DON'T HAVE ANY OF THOSE IN THE FRIDGE RIGHT NOW?
... probably because they don't keep in this house

Me too - that way we'd get six cheeses, enough for a proper cheeseboard.

what did the cheese say when he saw himself in the mirror? halloumi
I went to a cheese factory the day after it had exploded.
All that was left was de brie.

Ohhhhhhhhh cheese. It would have to be:
Reblechon
Comte
And probably a hard goats cheese of some sort.
I'm now thinking that raclette might be good for melting over the campfire in the evening. Some of these desert islands might get a bit chilly at night.
I thought that's why PhilPub was with you, with his survival skills. (to light the fire of course, nothing else, I wouldn't suggest such a thing).
As it's an island I'm sure there will be fish, crabs and seaweed to go with the cheese.
Cheese.............yummy!!
I'd have to go for:
Somerset Brie
Tasty Lancashire
Boursin original
Am hungry now.....................
And I'd like a case of Pouilly Fume please
Raclette would go well with seafood... Mmm. Drooling a little now
I must have cream crackers in abundance and steak......and a man friday to service my every need
Oh yes Reblechon, we could have tartiflette!
Beth - I just went to the shops and bought some Lancashire on my way home!
Cheesestrings, Babybels and Dairylea triangles.
Mature Cheddar
Cranberry Wensleydale
Sage Derby
And a case of wine, ta.
