I know it's a bit of a personal thing, but can anyone recommend a comfy tri saddle, mines started ripping me apart it's been a while since I've been on a tri bike but its a saddle I've not had trouble with in the past.
It's so different for everyone. I use Fizik Arione on all my bikes but when this topic has come up before others have said they couldn't get on with them. Likewise I had, a good few years ago, a Selle Italia SLR and it near crippled my backside but others think it is the best thing since sliced bread.
It is hard because it is a lot of money to pay out for something that may not work for you but try and borrow from anyone you can different ones and hopefully you will come up trumps
I am using a selle smp and had no problems with it 4 years ago before I gave up doing tri's but now getting back on the tri bike it's murdering me and its not like I've had 4 years out of the saddle I've still been racing MTB and training a couple of days a week on a road bike.
Hi there, I've recently changed bikes and had a nightmare with saddles....I totally agree it is a very personal thing...couple of things that may help....
Some specialized bike shops have a way if measuring your tail bone and then recommending a suitable saddle
Some bike shops do a trial scheme....I used this option at TriUK....they charge a deposit that they then offset against the cost of a new saddle....you can try each one for a couple of weeks and they have a good range.
I was almost tempted to go for the Specialized option, but decided that a different make was what I really wanted to do. Specialized offer a one month satisfaction guarantee: buy a saddle, try it, if you don't get on with it you take it back and swap with a different Specialized one. Some are comfier than others, but they are all a bit synthetic.
Actually, I'm wondering if I should try out the OE Specialized Riva saddle again. It's in the garage.
A few days ago I found an old Iltalia saddle in the shed that's been on god knows how many bikes from MTB, road and even my first couple of tri bike, so I thought I would give it a go and its a big improvement it could be better but then that might also be down to the fact that I have been on a tri bike and down in the tuck position for 4 years, time will tell, although I don't think there's many miles left in the saddle it's looking a little thread bare.
I love the Fizik Arione on my road bikes bha the Arione Tri on my ti bike guide me a problem with numbness wher you don't want to be numb!
I got a Adamo TT which has completely solved any problems with numbness you know where, but is quite painful on the sit bones beyond a couple of hours.
I really like the look of the new Fizik Tritone, but will need to ebay the Adamo and a few other bits and pieces first.

I have been looking at the Adamo range, but it's a pricey mistake to make if it does not work out.
Out of interest how much would you be looking for it?
I tell you what if you have done nothing with it by the end of the month (that's October) I will take it off your hands for around what your asking, just can't really spend much more this month it's been expensive one with a week away on holiday, ironman Sweden entry and buying a second hand tri bike
That's interesting Jus! I've managed to get one off fleabay and will fit it soon. Any hints on that? I've read they may need to go down slightly and tilt forward too.

Each to their own, but I've got an On-One big nose saddle best, most comfy saddle I've had and cheap (£19.99)
I have one of those on my ridgid single speed MTB they are good
If you have any more problems, try an ISM Adamo saddle, got one last year, very comfy

+1 for ISM Adamo - very nice
Bontrager offer a one month money back guarantee if you don't get on with them and also now do an adjustable model.

They look to be about £140 new for the TT. I would hope for about 60% of that.

Second in line after Jus, Darkness! Currently actively looking for one, but being tight I don't want to pay full price!!
and I wouldnt give you tuppence for it ..... nasty things
They are a bit Marmite!
Solved my problem of numbness, but I just don't find it that comfortable for IM distance rides so want to try something else.
Jus, you have a message.
Well thanks to Darkness I now own a Adamo saddle, and I've got to say what a difference it's solved all problems including be able to have kids again
thought it would do the job, I like marmite

I have got it on a slight down angle, I tend to do that on all of my saddles when it comes to road bikes, but not on my MTB.
ive left the saddle hight where it was.
