I'm going to ride there, hoping to time it so I see the first run as they come down Box Hill Road just after the start, then get a nice big tea in at the cafe before they come up the hill the first time.
If I'm waiting for Gladys I'll have time for a second. And a slice of cake.
I got drowned but good to do a bit of supporting, plus the exercise of walking up and down the hill. The hot chocolate and bread pudding was very good.
FF I know what you mean, after Lanza training last year I dont think I had one long bike ride that wasnt wet or cold or both and that includes race day !!!
Cake was consumed, FF. There were lots of DNFs. One guy doing it in shorts and a T shirt had a long chat with the marshalls after the first bike lap about going back into transition for some more clothes. What was he thinking?
Flat footed....are you going senile.can't you remmeber Outlaw on one of the hottest days of the year........I know the rest of us have tried to bleach that day from our minds
I bumped into an occasional cycling buddy today at BB who was supporting her husband. She raced Outlaw this year.
I asked her if she swa the nappy man at the feedstation, and that he was racing here today. She said fortunately that she hadn't, and had no desire to see this pics!!
Well raced guys, sorry I didn't make support crew, unfortunately some domestic rearrangements (that I decided it was wiser to go along with in the long term) took priority. I did feel a bit of sympathy as I managed to sneak out for a very soggy run.
I don't know...the way Siggy and Slag were looking at me had me worried
I was going to say does Mrs. Foo know what you were doing at the Outlaw feedstation? And senility must have stepped in as Slag and I were at a different feedstation!!! Thankfully!!

I am on kid's duty as my EX has the day and she is racing it. I will probably be there in March. Good preparation for Lanza.
If you're waiting for me, bring a sleeping bag!
If I go sub 4 tomorrow I'll be uber happy.
You should manage the first 8 mile run sub 4 Gladys......as long as you push hard
Has everyone drowned up on Box Hill?
Ask Jaffa, he said he was going. As did you I believe?!
DId you not see each other there?!
Or did the pissing rain and cold keep you tucked up (not jealous at all!)
BHFlyer and FF killed it, I only wounded it.
Alas I got stuck in happy valley and didn't make it. Although I was in the pissing rain so felt your pain.
Wounded or tickled?

Yes, thanks to SCJ and CD for braving horrible conditions longer than I would have to support!
I 4/5 killed it. Though I acknowledge the last 1/5 is the hardest to kill!
Hmmm, in my experience the last 1/5 is about half
Pirates did what pirates do best today, two stood in the rain and supported (whilst consuming some fine cake I bet) and three raced.
Getting fed up of training or racing in freezing rain now, seems it's all i've done in 2013.
Thanks to Gladys and BHflyer for the company.
good effort to everyone in pretty revolting conditions today!
Well done guys !

Cheer for the support cj and cd, and for the company Gladys and flatfooted.
'enjoyable' as always, but wondering I did to deserve a trip to IKEA this evening

Yes, I remember that day but I was screwing the feed station not racing..it was like Wales all over again today.
Well done to those racing and supporting. Hope to join you again in the Spring.
PS What's the hoodie like?
Very snug! A big improvement on the one a couple of years back, and the dodgy bike jersey.
Wow...just noticed I was screwing the feedstation apparently.....I think my phone doesn't like crewing.
FF, I wasnt sure if that post meant you'd nicked all the bananas or well... something else

In that gettup I couldn't imagine you screwing anyone......not even pirates are that desperate

And yet it looked so nice at 7.30am!
