I am keen to try some ugali, which apparently is a staple in Kenya. Where in London/UK can I get some? Holland & Barrett carries generic maize flour - is this the same thing?
And what is the best way to prepare once I've procured some?
Any experiences shared appreciated!

or try polenta instead
Funny you should say that FB. I saw this last night and found the answer in about 30 seconds. We must be internet guniuses
I'd rather bet my money on the fact they probably train well over 100 miles a week and live at altitude.
Fat buddha - what makes you think I haven't done at least some homework? shop4mamakenya has the product for under 2 quid but charges another 10 quid for delivery. Thanks for nothing.
This thread is turning ugali now
I didn't see anything in the original question that stated specifics on prices / delivery charges etc.

and your point there is?? if you'd said you wanted to know where to buy it and not get ripped off with delivery charges, the I might not have posted as I did. but you didn't did you??
always a pleasure to help those who can't post an specific question....
anyway - as I said - just use polenta instead. you can buy various grades from coarse to fine. and if you want to know where to buy it, then I think I have supplied a useful link to help you out.......
I lived in Kenya and ate ugali everyday - it was school lunch not my choice.
it is horrible, has not taste, it is white and solid when you make it. the polento I have had is yellow but I think you get diff grade/ varieties of flour. Polenta was also not very nice but not as bad as ugali
polento? new one on me
Polenta you have to add lots of flavour to it. Then you have something nice.
What's wrong with just eating regular food? I'd rather have a nice big juicy steak with green beans and carrots!
You can afford to eat meat? You rich bugger
I do have to catch it myself though!
crisps and cocktail sausages? anyone? Pizza?
