Hello
Grateful for some help - I have a basic Tacx turbo that I use with a garmin and HR monitor. My coach has set me a target of doing a monthly TT on the turbo that involves me measuring the distance travelled in the session for comparison month to month. Can you please tell me in layman's terms what I will need to do this with minimum cost?
I do have a cadence sensor for my Garmin that I have never used but plan on putting on this week. I suspect it will not help with this though?
Thanks in advance!

One of them using ANT+ in the same way your cadence sensor works (don't forget to fit it on the back wheel)
a cadence sensor will only tell you cadence.
you need some form of speed sensor on the rear wheel - I use a wireless Cateye Double bike computer which has a combined speed and cadence sensor which you mount on the left side chainstay. that does the trick but they're not cheap - c£60-70 which includes the computer itself.
maybe you Garmin model has a speed sensor option??
As FB said - Garmin sell a speed and cadence sensor for bikes that works with their Edge bike units and some of the running ones (certainly it works with the 305). That'll tell you speed and distance on the turbo. It'll be cheaper than a separate computer.
Many thanks all
Gsc 10 from garmin £45 or £30 on fleabay
