Thanks Millsy1977, I currently run 4 times a week, 2 club sessions, parkrun and solo run and looking at using some other exercise to supplement that. My thinking is to use my block of 5 PT sessions to help build-up my core etc to support my running and then look at changing the mix of training to be more run focused.
well an update - the weight session was great on saturday morning and i followed this up with a session of hill reps on Sunday. I got told by a dog walker that he didnt think the hill was steep enough!!
Anybody have any suggestions on gradient for that type of work?
If you are feeling tired by the end of the session then it should be fine.
If not try running the reps a bit faster or do more reps.
Try not to obsess over the small details too much. I didn't do any specific hill training for my first marathon apart from just living in a hilly area.
Hi Dave, hope you are holding up under the pressure of the vote! By this time tomorrow you'll know the result. Whatever happens, I hope you'll be making plans for a spring marathon, and I hope you'll stick around on the forum threads.

Just had time to return to the forum, thanks to all that voted for me, unfortunately I lost out to Isobel, who did a great job in securing votes.
I have penned some of my thoughts on a different thread for the compeition. just ramblings really!
Hi jenf - yes i am currently weighing up options for Sproing marathons and will be sticking around, just not everyday!
