Last year it was a heat wave, could wander round in shorts and vest at 4am and it was lovely and warm, camping was a joy. Shame it got hotter and hotter and hotter!
I'm staying in central Nottingham in a hotel - bad idea?
Not really, i stayed in a hotel the first two times i did the outlaw, when you say central nottingham, exactly where? I stayed in the Premier Inn on London road, this was far enough away from Nightclubs, bars etc so i got some sleep and was only a ten minute drive to HPP
I stayed in a Holiday Inn at Castle Marina retail park (I think) when I raced. Being off site wasn't an issue at all. Hotel was opposite a Sainsburys too which was very handy for last minute panics.
Red Stripe - no. In previous years it has been free for volunteers, but that may change this year. I'm sure those organising the Feedstation will try and sort this out for you and let you know nearer the time - but its OSB decision in the end.
booking is only needed if you need electric hookup..........and you have to pay for this pitch even if helping as it doesn't come free like normal helping does........( might change this year but was free for helpers in past )
the reason they don't take booking for normal camping is because there are so many tents that they must be way over capacity......the pirates pitch about 20 tents in the space that would normally accomodate about 7 tents

I don't remember bar running out in 2012. To be fair I don't recall much after the finish line and huge bottle of leffe.
I believe Gastank, Pingu and myself drank the bar dry by about midnight (to be fair, we had a lot of help from KK throughout the day!!)
mmmmm beer! It's up the stairs and to the left for the bar. It near has the black stuff through.

By the sounds of this, Fanny, yes, it's a bad idea!
For those that have never been to the Outlaw, this is how close the camp site is:
We stayed holiday inn last year and same this year. Don't do camping

What like..."oh forget to order some bleach for the downstairs toilet before we left, i'll just pop over the road and get some"
As a feed station helper do I need to book camping on site ?

I'm at the park plaza - Maid Marion Way. Although my niece went to uni there I don't really know Nottingham - thats far north for me
