@Iron Pingu I will check... normally not... it will be used to guarantee your reservation... if you dont turn up first night will be taked sort of thing...
The hotel has just told me that they will only run a group booking if i pay everything... in advance...
I am not prepared to have you send me money in CHF to then reconvert to EUR. So you will all have to contact the hotel individually and make your own reservations...
I will be sending you all an email to this effect too today... with the phone number of the hotel so you can call and book
Pingu - my confirmation email says 'The amount to be paid at the hotel.....' which makes me think they haven't charged my card (plus they never asked for the CCS number)
Ok peeps i dont do this flying thing very often i am booked on Easyjet with a hold allowance of 20 kgs i am planning on using my bike bag and chucking everything in that expect stuff like pedals etc which was going in my cabin bag is this ok or should I be booking extra allowance ? I will be travelling light clothes wise as its Nice in June
I remember us talking luggage allowances ages ago.
I honestly, honestly can't see how you can do it on just the 20kgs plus cabin baggage. I use a bike bag too and I usually carry pedals, bike shoes, my actual race clothing and seat post in my hand luggage purely out of superstition. I then put as much stuff as I can in my bike bag to make it up to the 20kgs and that doesn't give me room for much. I can't see how you'll make it all fit within the weight limit of the bike bag and then the dimension restrictions of cabin baggage. I know I'm a woman but I do know how to travel light, I'll wash clothes out etc but you've got to pack all that race kit PLUS at least a couple of t-shirts and a pair of shorts!
The only way I can see you doing it without paying the extra is if you're taking your daughter to sherpa and you can share her baggage allowance?
I've paid for a bike box and hold luggage as don't want any hassle at the airport. The bike box is pretty big compared to regular luggage even if it doesn't weigh as much. Mind, my hold luggage will cover my daughters stuff too.
The wet suit takes up a lot of room then there's the bike/run shoes, bike helmet, all pretty bulky. Bike bottles, pump etc.
Oh, I've had a brain wave. Why don't you do a dummy run? Shove the bike in the bike bag (don't take it all to bits as you're only weighing it) and see how much you can get in with it? Weigh it and see what it comes to.

It's the only thing worrying me about this whole event.. Getting all my kit out there, or SleazyJet losing my bike, or or or or
Cross post heaven, Pingu.
