I'm loosely involved with a sports club gym that has a lot of blank bland walls. Someone came up with the idea of filling them up with inspirational sporting quotes.
Preferably from well-known athletes (not necessarily runners), and not too long.
Any suggestions?

Thanks I've done that and there's a lot of stuff out there. I'd be interested in what people on here have heard and what has inspired them.
One I heard a long time ago and stuck / think of a lot
"When we lose our excuses, we find our results"
My current twitter bio

You either ran today, or you didn't !
Nike slogan about 10 years ago
My favourite is a bit similar to Scott's....
"Be stronger than your excuses".
I remind myself of it frequently when the alarm goes off at 4:50am and the very last thing I feel like doing is going out in the dark to run
I like the one: be stronger than your excuses.
My faves are:
“Every time you stay out late; every time you sleep in; every time you miss a workout; every time you don’t give 100%… you make it that much easier for me to beat you.”
“The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.”
“The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle.”
“Pain is weakness leaving the body.”
pain is temporary, failure is forever
Along the same lines...I like "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional."
Laughter is the best medicine, unless you're an asthmatic: then it's Ventolin.
I like Nike's "Just Do It"
but I always imagine it with the added implied clause:
"Just (Stop Droning On Talking About It And) Do It"
"one day this pain will make sense"
"Stop looking for bloody quotes, and get running" is my favourite.
Jesus. You are so far up your own arse.
Do you seriously think a fucking quote on a wall of a gym will make the difference, no some volunteer, helping them or someone they admire doing something will, but the quote....
You want a quote...
Do or do not, there is no try.
