OK, it's week three of my marathon training programme and I've stalled. Big time.
This week's training programme reads:
Sunday - 10 miles
Monday - 5 miles or Rest
Tuesday - 6 miles
Wednesday - Speedwork
My actual training has been:
Sunday - 1 miles then aborted run due to headache
Monday - 5 minutes on treadmill but very tired and very bored
Tuesday - no run as got home late from work and had to throw tea down neck to be in time for Dress Rehearsal
Wednesday - 5 minutes on treadmill this morning before realising I needed to be in work early
Will someone please boot me up the arse and get me out tonight to do 4 miles, at least, please?
I'm doing a 10 mile race on Sunday and I'm starting to get worried.

Consider this a taper
xx
one week won't do you any harm. especially this early on in marathon training. as hipps says a taper for your 10 miler will be good. but make sure you start again next week.
KICK!!!!! (for next week)
Evil Bitch Hippo
And be nice to the marshall at the bottom of the hill at mile 3 - she works with me.
You can have a kick around dartford if you want it
But you already have a good base fitness level from all your running so I'#m sure that a carpy week won't hurt.
Bet even Paula gets carpy weeks
Hope to see you Sunday, Andy. Look out for the unfit brunette bringing up the rear!
Probably be spectating so I'll keep an eye out for both of you.
Bit worried about the hills on this one, so support will be most welcome!
i'm doing a 10 miler this weekend but a different one. looking forward to it now.
and today i really didn't want to go out and run (very cold and wet out there) but i went anyway and by 4-5 miles was totally full of the joys of spring (well winter really but you get what I'm saying)!
:-)
Thanks for all the support.
So Andy, did you keep your part of the deal??
Mind you, I'm no expert.
I managed about 1:40, which is only a couple of minutes slower than I did Cabbage Patch, which is completely flat and which I did at the height of training for NY. Yesterday was the furtherest I'd run since NY was was really chuffed with the time - given the hills!
Third time lucky to meet up? When's your next race?
