...well an aquabiklete, but I did have to do a bit of running at the end. Many thanks to everyone on here who provided invaluable advice on my newbie threads. I learned lots from those and even more from the event itself. And a shoutout for the event - I was at Events Logic SW's Cotswolds End of Season Tri and it was really nicely put together. Main achievement was not coming last - in fact not even last but one! Some things I was disappointed with, but actually if someone had told me this morning that I would a) get round and b) in the time I got, I'd have happily taken it!

Nice work aquabiklete!
Now.... you just need to order some pirate kit in the next round, and enter an Ironman.... its really important that you know that its not optional... its the pirate way...
I have my eye on an event that is an Aquabike half-iron. Does that count? It's called the Swashbuckler and has a pirate medal which is my chief reason for wanting to do it. #Priorities
darned good start..... but we'll have you at a pirate IM champs before you know it!
I have a back condition that limits running to about 10k... I shall see what I can do to find events that are duly pirate-worthy. Or buy a hoody...
I wouldn't worry to much about the running you haven't seen how good some folks can mince yet. Run walk or crawl it's about the distance not the time. Just enjoy the journey. Well done for today.
It's possible, I know !
Simple - just search the iron distance races for next year, sign up and enjoy the pirate support
Your forum name needs a bit of attention to be more pirate like ???????
very piratical!
(both the new name, and having goggles that leak)
Ive walked the whole of an IM Marathon.. just make sure your swim/bike is up to speed to give you 8 hours to walk it
The last thing you'd want is pirates giving you a knick name just ask Posh Twat !
Nice work Zannie. Pity about the knee - but if you don't fancy crawling 26 miles there's always the option of joining a relay team for an IM, and just doing the swim or bike.
