I've used a Profile Design one for years, never had any issues other than replacing the Velcro strap with a tie wrap for each event ( my TT bike only has mounts for one bottle cage)
some sod nicked the straw out of mine in transition at Bala a couple of years back
Unless you're at the pointy end I'd just use normal bottle cages. I couldn't get on with those bendy straw things.
im just not very good at bending down for it, i stop peddling to pay attention to what im doing at that slows me a fair bit no matter how much I practise it.
I'd practice more then. If you can't get a bottle from a cage and replace it without looking or having to stop pedalling then how will you get on with filling up your hydration tank on the go.
If you turbo through the winter using bottle cages, practice not looking down (and remember to drink!). Then, by the time you get out on the road again, your hand should find the cage automatically.
I find it difficult to reach the rear cage. so I tend to use the front until I empty it, and then hold the empty bottle in my teeth while I switch the rear to the front. That manoevre takes a little more practice!

Dave - definitely wasn't me that stole your straw
I use a Profile Design plus one bottle in framecage
I just use two bottle cages.

Its not a practise issue, its the same wh I can't pat my head and rub my belly, I'm just uncoordinated.
