Plans have changed unfortunately and we need to be back home early on the Monday, so Myself and Mrs Daylight will only be there for the Sunday fun and games I'm afraid (hoping to stay for Sunday pub at least though) Also broke the bike in the crap weather yesterday so swim and bike might be turning into swim only!
Am I being a doofus? Where am I going on Sunday again...and what time?
I don't know if any race day instructions have been put up, not sure if you go straight to the leisure centre or meet at LC's house and am not sure what time we start
Unless the plan has changed, I'm working to the timings from page 1 still:
Day 1 – Sunday 30th April
Meet at HQ from 7.30am, breakfast rolls for these who want them and plenty of faffing time for those that don’t, chance to sort out small bag to be transferred to T1 and set up T2 area. Pre-race briefing to take place by 8.30 then ride down to the swim / start which is 3 miles away
Swimming pool is booked for our private use from 9-10am
Then T1 will be as close to the pool as we can make it, I am just negotiating the use of an area for those wanting to go straight out but changing rooms can be used for those that want to do their hair/put make up on ;p
Ride to commence – route is still being finalised and will be tested out, plan is for it to be route signed, have options to allow for shorter distances and a fully challenging half route (once firmed up more details on profile and route files will be made available)
T2 will be back at race HQ, the run route is currently multi lapped but no further than 2 miles to the feed station, slightly undulating but plenty of support each time you pass the feed station
Finish at HQ, shower change and enjoy the evening with a trip to the pub
Plans as still the original instructions/information so meeting at S_T8 7_SP from 7.30. We need to leave here by around 8.30 to get down to the pool and set up the T1 area.
Question from the wife (who for some reason doesn't seem to be able to post on the new forum - her posts never show up) - is there any sort of water station on the bike route, or is that self-supporting?
There will be an aid station on the looped section of the bike. So about 12 miles to get to it the first time, then pass it every 4ish miles, then as long as you call to it after you finish the last lap, 12 miles or so after it
Just found out the the Ginga Ninja is not arriving until late Sunday evening. so I may be in a support only capacity on Sat as I have the boys with me. If that's the case I'll still pay my pool fees
So re the feedstations there will be a small selection of items available and those extras that folks bring but as per the usual tradition of the DIY we will help by passing and exchanging but unfortunately this will not be like a normal fully supported race (having said that we will probably have lots of goodies, banter and a few spares between us in the event of a minor mechanical)
The feedstation for the run is HQ and you will never be further than 1.7-2miles away from it so this will give you the opportunity to again shout out special requests etc.
Sorry didn't check back on forum don't worry if not been able to place order for my top. Prob way too late now but name on back canIrunyet if not. X which pub is it again and what time meeting? X
Comments
We are booked in from 7pm but said it would probably be from 6.30pm on and folks arriving at different times!
Also broke the bike in the crap weather yesterday so swim and bike might be turning into swim only!
Sorry for last minute change.
Text me if you need directions or anything
