I have had it done and have an appointment for 3 months time and if not right then he will refer me for shockwave therapy....so just got to see how it goes.. I think I will try it out a week Saturday at parkrun..thanks for the good luck wishes
wow, I haven't been online for ages and I missed a whole lot of stuff. Didn't get on with the new RW format so gave up .. I keep getting promoted, and no idea how. Anyway.
Did the MK marathon last week and the Shakespeare marathon on Sunday. Just training runs and now the taper has started like most of you I am sure. Back in Angola and about to book my flights, I think commuting to Comrades is one of the few advantages living in Luanda actually has. I will be staying in Umhlanga, but happy to travel into Durban for beers etc.
Mr Z - there is an Umhlanga park run too. It's quite nice.
Cheers, yeah, I'm still kind of keen to see the parkrun on the North Beach, partly cause i went there regularly as a child on holiday and partly to see a huge parkrun in terms of numbers.
I set the parkrun up here which has grown from 60 odd to between 400 - 500 each week, and I'd intrigued to see how north beach copes with several thousand!
As part of my tapir I will be running the Chester half marathon a week on Sunday. The company I work for are co-sponsor of the event and because of previous form in this space I am expected to "dress up a bit"...
SS - if I run I put on my ruby red slippers close my eyes click my heels three times and chant "there's no place like home" - PS notice the evil sweeper van in background - never acknowledge them - your Comrades will be over - they are like the evil child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I just checked the results for the parkrun at North Beach, wow that's mental numbers! Our local gets around 250 to 350 each week & I thought that was a lot
Would be tempted to check North Beach out as well, only reason I went for Umhlanga is that it's a short jog from where I'm staying.
I'm afraid I have put on a few pounds since then (and I was holding an awful lot in for that photo if truth be told) - I am struggling to find anything "suitable" for a week on Sunday - I better fire up ebay!
Dannirr - don't worry - she only comes out during local short running events egged on mostly by my female workmates (why is it always the women?) - on this particular occasion I bravely implied that this get-up would be possible if an extra £100 was collected for charity - within 4 hours that same day the girls had collected the total and my fate was set.
Slow Duck - it will be great to see you - if you can bear the association with me on the day - I will need to do a dress rehearsal - my garb is different for each appearance - although my family disown me during these episodes so not sure if I can engineer a photo/selfie to post prior to the event for you to recognise me on the big day - maybe that won't be necessary as no doubt I will be a tad conspicuous anyway
Southern Snail, running in rain in warm temperatures is not a problem. I ran a 30-mile ultra at 18C and heavy rain a few years ago and it was fine - except for the cheap race numbers disintegrating, so we each had to remember our number and call it out at the checkpoints!
Finally had a warm (by UK standards) sunny run - beautiful morning, three hours, 1.6 miles. Now the three-week taper begins - although Coach Parry's schedule still has two 2-hour runs for next weekend, so I don't think I'm going to feel like I'm in running withdrawal.

Hope you are prancing around pain free very soon seren

How a tapir parkrun looks; they all have the same 3 stripe barcode

Rain is possible, but unlikely...
