That IS a drama ! Well played sir - you were smashing it on that first lap. Clearly no bike can take your powerrrrrrr. You'll prob need a bike from Sir Chris Hoy....
I am so glad someone else heard the fireworks...I thought I'd dreamt it! Duda...that's amazing... you have totally nailed it with Dory...she is the absolute endurance icon of our times...
Sorry to ask a stupid question but how do you "become" a pirate. I only ask cos I've just got my photos back and I couldn't look more stupid if I wore fishnets and a bloody bra, given my ample frame...weari g yellow ain't gonna really bother me unduly, ya know...?

You will have to wait for the next kit order which will start at the beginning of September but it will probably be end of November before the order arrives. You maybe able to borrow kit for your race in the mean time.
Cheers. Noted. No worries about kit; this particular event was selected to help (unhelp) my wife get though her first oly. On one of most difficult courses in the country, doh! Anyway, I shall try and partake next year of the yellow racing....
Welcome aboard Memphis ! There is also a PSOF facebook group - but the administrator seems to be errm, technically challenged - so don't worry if you dont't get approved straight away...
Thanks for the info. Think I'll get a t shirt for hever in case anyone's around that I can say hello to (it's like, 2nd biggest event in the country, right?) , otherwise leave it for some proper kit. You were rocking a bandana 3/4 way down the far side of the lake, right?
Thanks, for the info.this was my first tri. Thurraly enjoyed it until that last lap. That lake run, wow. Id like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers around the routes. you made the day. Thanks. I will never eat another Jaffa cake as long as I live !!!
Sorry, one more question. After finishing I had a welcomed massage, went for a shower, then went and got something to eat. After eating which was by then about an hour after finishing. I collapsed and came round surrounded by paramedics. My wife of course panicked and said im never doing a full distance again. They found nothing wrong and after a good nights sleep felt fine. Anyone else had this and what did I do wrong ? Thanks
Hiya. Quick search...disclaimer...I am a doctor, just not been at the sharp end for a few years...suggests almost always secondary to postural drop. Basically, pooling of blood flow can cause loss of available circulation to the upper extremities on standing...your brain....so the extreme circulatory stress you place your body under during IM distance race followed by eating a ton ( blood flow to bowels etc) well and truly overloaded you. Then you got up and walked.....cue faint. I wouldn't be so clear cut if you hadn't got checked out afterwards but bearing in mind you did, relax, do another but next time give it a good half hour to digest your food before you get going again.,.or skip the buffet altogether!... see you next year....
Thanks very much. Bothe answers make sense. Except I didn't get up straight after food. Believe it or not a big yawn bought on the dizziness. I asked the question because my wife thought I was dying and now won't let me do another one
Yep, same theories from different angle...dehydration with salt depletion lowers plasma volume...cardiovascular system somewhat taxed...eating further taxes system...then you yawn (wtf?)...last bit mystifies me tbh, sure it's entirely coincidental, hope it is. Hippo-yawn-itis, maybe?
