Could all you experienced runners recomend your choice of CD to put on my mp3 player as I am a bit crap at downloading and making playlists up . A lot easier for me to put CDs on to my mp3.
I've got Snow Patrol's Eyes Open on mine, not my kind of music usually but keeps me nice and level paced.... and stops me going charging off and promptly collapsing after 100 yards!
i would recomend anything with a good beat. i run to music i would never listen to normaly. Someone once recomended i run to dance music, my reaction was you must be joking, but i tried it and it really carries you along. Also if you can get hold of the Rocky CD thats good to run to................... as long as you dont take it to far and start to think your him...........
Hi there, I have discovered this most fantastic dance music website, all the music is constant bpm (beats per minutes) so your workout is consistent, you can choose from 130bpm (fast(ish) walk, to 180 - good clip. All at least 1 hour long.
Hope you enjoy, and can download off the internet.
Try 'Fanfare for the common man' Emerson Lake and Palmer - have just checked a couple of other suggestions and they have been really entertaining - thanks
Anyone else get really OCD when the music's tempo doesn't match their cadence!!? Or is that just me! I usually run with an audiobook, though those time when I stick some music on I get really motivated and usually beat some PB's!
I'm old fashioned, and use an ipod shuffle. I've burned my CD's onto Itunes and then onto the shuffle. I stopped using it for running for several years, but since doing "spin sessions" on non running days, have got used to pedalling to the beat. I've therefore started using the shuffle again for running and find it very beneficial. I like heavy metal and symphonic rock, which are great for tempo pace running. I've never used it in races, and they are banned in the majority of races anyway, these days.

Prodigy - Fat of the Land
Bloc Party - both their albums
Libertines - both
If into dance google for 'podrunner' free podcast downloads designed for training by a running DJ. Easy to download too.

Any music at all, any style and any tempo will do for running to.
As long as it's AC/DC, that is.........
