Hmm, I can see your point of view, but it doesn't seem as hard core as currency peddlers crashing their way in here and disrupting our karma, maybe that link is not a great example; the thread is about shampoo and they posted a link about shampoo.
When I said "can't find" I was referring to the profile of Freddy22
My current line of cleansing is in searching for keywords from the currency posts such as "high quality" etc which is proving quite fruitful.
They are probably jumping directly in to the forum off some favourite locally saved links and could well be unaware of our clean-up operation. Hopefully RW will turn up one day, take a look at the top spammers, and close the accounts down properly.
on my travels there are various accounts long dead, so somewhere in the ancient past we can see these things have been done - I can recommend the book Feersum Endjinn by Iain M Banks as a comparator to the state we currently find ourselves in - OMG did I just spam
There was a time when the RW staff posted regularly on here, met up with forumites at races and were generally good eggs. I think as a lot of people decanted to Facebook and Fetcheveryone, and the staff who were engaged with the forum moved on to pastures new, the whole thing lost momentum and now they don't really care about it.
It's a shame, but I can't see them being bothered enough to take any action.
csorthofeet's persistence is certainly quite impressive, and actually he's resurrected an awful lot of posts, some of which might be quite useful - doesn't stop me spamming him, but he's nowhere near as bad as the counterfeit currency clowns.
No harm in bumping this post. I'm just getting back in to running outdoors, and just lurking ... watching! I'm surprised to see so much spam here these days, and (apparently) so few people flagging it. But I just zapped two spam posts with a fifth flag, so hopefully between us all we can clean it up.

kendraallen is another who's slightly more subtle. Keeps posting links to thefashioxxxdates.com.

perhaps I'm being too spam-sensitive, but it's a little too coincidental.
