Lyrics We know that cryin's not a bad thing
But stop your cryin' when the birds singNot the first line
Morning all
Better night for me, took two painkillers so the tooth didn't wake me
What walk with bestest friend this morning, short run with Sacha later
Why sanity
Last hard yesterday
Last rest 31/12/20
Finding being home alone all day harder after Christmas. Mil and I didn't walk yesterday, she was too nervous but I also had another migraine.

Lyrics: yes
Yesterday's were Reasons to Cheerful, Ian Dury and The Blockheads
What: 40 plus minutes this afternoon, stretches this morning
Why: too icy this morning. Trying to get back into the stretching routine.
Enjoy your day everyone.
What: run with friend
Anyone else watching events in the us in disbelief last night?
Feeling better this morning, nose is less runny which is nice and headache gone! Fingers crossed that continues!
Have a lovely day all
Sorry to hear that you have toothache and another migraine Wabo. I hope the walk and run make you feel better.
Mark has just taken Lola to the vets as she is being spayed today. Online learning completed. Fracture clinic for me this afternoon. Very cold out (-2C feels like -5C) and not forecast to feel above freezing all day so I may not be going far.
Hope fracture clinic goes well. Is this an in person one or virtual?
Emz: the US kept me awake!
LMH: have you spoken with physio yet? Wonder what the clinic will say about recovery exercises today. Hope it isn't virtually useless as I believe you said last week!
Much better night last night.
Going for short run this morning. Sea water has been cold recently (4°C). Various other tasks including compiling eServices for this Sunday.
I too despair of the US just now.
Lyrics no
alehouse - yes, the day it happened.
Sorry to hear that your second jab has been delayed OH. No idea if I would be given one or more of mine before starting as another vulnerable person. All the modules were still showing in my portfolio so all are completed.
I find it quite unbelievable what Trump has done and the way he has been allowed to act.
Hope chicksta had a good night.
Yes, hope Chick is doing as well as can be!
And no to the cold water, OH!
Will be interesting to see what you think of the yaktrax!
Hazel I will need antibiotics I reckon if it continues, it is a bit easier today
LMH hope the clinic goes well
emzap I too am sure your friend will be happy to see you
the US looks just awful, madness
I have reset my desk situation in case that was the head problem, it might be...
Wabo hope the tooth settles.
LMH..hope fracture clinic is useful. Wouldn't expect to be told you can do v much with it yet.
Emz your friend will be glad to see you.
Seems rather a gloomy day all round. Only been for a walk yet...cooking and knitting. Now snow forecast so hope to get out before that comes.
Cheered up by late Christmas present of Nordic gnome leggings! Jolly and had been about to order some cheap decathlon ones as only go one pair with a useful pocket.
Glad you are home chicksta. Vets have called to say that Lola is post-op and doing ok.
Are you running in the Yaktrax Hazel?
Good to hear from you, Chick! Take it easy! Don't suppose that you have much choice!
Leggings look good, albeit not quite my style, Els!
You have reminded me to contact the dentist, Wabo...and hope your problem settles. Take it easy if you run later after the walk! No rush!
What: easy(ish) 55 minutes
Why: weight loss? Very slippery in places, but now largely due to mud rather than ice, although there are crunchy rutted areas as well.
Just back from 2.4 miles, very comfy lots of layers on and I have taken to running in a bobble hat! But me and my mate just missed each other , who knows how, we set off same time and should have met. Hey ho!
Alehouse nice running
chick, take care
Ale you never know till you try . Legs are a bit chubby though (mine not Ale's). Nice big pocket for my new huge phone too.
Just down the hill in advance of the heavy snow forecast, not sure it's right though.
Chick it's very much protocol that you get enough meds, sick notes etc home from hospital for a few weeks here, GPs complain otherwise.
What did fracture clinic advise LMH?
Hazel - how did the Yak traks perform?
Wabo - I love Ron Hill merino beanies, they are lovely and light, warm even when wet and easy to tuck into a waistband if you are getting too warm.
Sounds like progress of sorts, LMH! And a promising way forward. I found that the second time that I had a similar fracture using the other hand for support made a big difference. I, too, am surprised that you can sleep without the sling, but that sounds like good news! Onwards and upwards!
Love the leggings Els - mine are all boring black - should get a bit courageous and look for something else.
Jealous of that lovely thick hair too!
Good news Lola is doing well LMH. Hmm some answers about the injury by the sounds of it - I guess keeping the sling for a while when sleeping won't do any harm?
Yaktrax test d&d.. Took a bit of tugging and pulling to put them onto a shoe yesterday evening until I worked out it is much easier if a foot is in said shoe. Don't know if I can put them on whilst standing on one foot yet though. Late afternoon mini trot up and down a trail short cut to the village shop which starts right next to my house as a first test then up some icy/snow covered steps, a few metres of tarmac (clatter, clatter) and out onto the field and woodland tracks. These are driven on by a lot of people and are consequently very icy and sometimes this ice is also heavily rutted (forestry equipment was busy in the last couple of weeks). Happy enough so far - I wasn't confident to bomb down any steep bits yet but a steady trot was much easier than without. I need to make sure I get my landing foot underneath me properly (good thing anyway) for optimum grip. Twisting an ankle on the ruts is of course still possible. Lovely evening for it - took a quick where am I break and noticed that the woods were entirely silent around me - rare to get such moments these days - you can almost always hear some sort of noise from nearby civilization.
Shoes: La Sportiva Bushidos - they have a very solid edge to them - there is no way those rubber grippers are going to slide off those. The uppers are quite soft though so shouldn't pull the velcro too tight.
