Morning!
Lyrics: So long boy you can take my place, got my papers I've got my pay
So pack my bags and I'll be on my way to...
Yesterday's colour related lyrics were Tie a yellow River round the ole oak tree by Dawn (featuring Tony Orlando)
What: a run on the anti gravity treadmill
Why: physio is watching me run to check if there is anything causing injury
Of course it looks like a perfect day for running outside! Perhaps some cross training in daughter's garden this pm.
Enjoyed looking at the Lucerne map Hazel. Looks reasonably flat for most of it. If I am correct the start and finish are near the camp site I stayed at in 1975! Have been back since but stayed in a hotel.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

Ale - hope the AG dreadmill yields some positive responses
Hazel - ohh , "enjoy" the 5 @LT pace, rather you than me!!
What - easy lunchtime, coaching village group tonight
Why - recovery, routine
last rest - 14/07
last hard - yesterday: 5x800s on grass w 200 recoveries. TBH they went better than I feared, stayed on the back of two guys I've struggled to keep up with of late and matched them stride for stride on rep 5. May actually be getting something resembling speed back....I know one swallow makes no summer but hey, take the ups when you can get them!
lyric - should have known yesterday not so sure today ...
What: recovering
Our holiday was a flop. Lucas and I were ill the entire time. We are both still grotty though he's at least on the mend. Covid tests were negative so just awful colds and coughs. Guess we've not had many recently so our immune systems aren't used to it.
Ale what's physio looking for?
Chamolk nice to see you pop in! Stick around.
Yesterday's session sounds tough Dustin!
Have a great day all.
Any colour will do, Hazel!
Poor Lucas and mummy: get well! Glad the tests were negative, Emz!
Physio was looking for anything obvious that has caused my shin issue: saw nothing amiss with my gait. Ran at 75% bodyweight for 30 minutes at various speeds, covering exactly 4 miles, whatever that is in kms.
Decent session yesterday, Dustin!
How's things with you, OH?
Very sorry to hear you are still struggling, Em. Wishing both of you a speedy recovery. 11 days is more than enough.
Nice bit of speedwork, Dustin. Running fast on grass is so tough.
Hope the LT goes well, Hazel.
Torrential rain here. Been waiting all day but I'm in work today so off to the gym it is now to get some sort of exercise in.
BTW, I managed to keep my 10k step challenge going even at the weekend. Where there is a will ...
Chick..well done on keeping the steps going in hard times.
Hazel...well spotted...he lived in Lausanne for about 10 years though I think he did the half marathon!
Ale...good no real problems spotted!
Dustin
Just work some socialising and walks for me today. Will run again tomorrow.
Lyrics...not today.
Emzap what rotten luck with being ill on holiday, sorry to hear that
Hazel nice training!
Alehouse it's a mystery then! I just got these lyrics!
Did track session myself yesterday, 4x300 he said 80 secs I'm afraid I was 90 ish then 5x400 all 2 mins and finally 800 second 400 was 6 secs quicker than first. I've not been for ages so I was pleased plus tonight was in my head
My resting is 48-50 I'm 63 and tonight's race ave was 144 and Max 166. Is that high? Only ask because I felt puffed
What 5k on rides race
Having possibly stress related stomach issues so I felt it was hard
Glad someone knows the lyrics, Wabo! Racing tonight after a track session yesterday should feel tough! And those heart rates sound fine!
Chick: glad that you are keeping the 10k streak going.
Hope your run went to plan Hazel.
A couple of hours cross training in daughter's garden: good for general fitness and harder than my running is at present!
Well done on the garden x training!
